See above, but if you are really groping for a rational explanation my best guess is the police report (assuming that is what Nick is angry about, because that's what Melton had) was gonna get out eventually, and Nick knows that. Somebody here would have gotten it, for example. Melton just got it first, and I think his was the full version and not the abridged.

What was more damaging, and what Melton likely wouldn't have gotten, was the CPS report that MNPR got. That's what he should be most pissed about, but he seems to be trying to downplay it. Especially now that MNPR is back
