Can we talk for a bit about how backhanded that 28 days in jail is? Hanging like a sword of Damocles, he'll really have to mind his Ps and Qs. When he inevitably fucks up it will still be a massive interruption to his life. He'll probably never hear the end of his parent's disappointment. On the other hand it's short enough it is almost completely uninteresting. No time for work assignments, no time to settle in, hell would commissary even have time to go through? Even if he does adjust it'll be just in time to get ready to leave. PKA's Kyle did twice as much time (in fed prison!) and it still was ultimately a footnote.

Also, lawfags please confirm, but it's my understanding this would be in addition to any penalties derived from your run of the mill probation violations. I.E. "Go straight to jail for a month while we figure out how to really punish you."
 
i wonder how many violations he gets before the prison time? maybe just the two? one that triggers the 28 and then the second is five years?

It will cost him. Doctors that prescribe controlled substances to convicted felons are going to want cash. Lots of it. And probably weekly visits.

The PO is going to see all the positive drug tests and demand to verify the prescription. If anything looks sketchy, the PO calls DEA and police to crawl up the doctor and pharmacists ass. Doctors know this and plan accordingly.
