My wife and I literally had a discussion about this yesterday regarding our toddler. My wife grew up never knowing how to cook because her mother made all her meals (she is an excellent cook now). I grew up cooking entire meals when I was 13. My mother worked evenings and my father worked overnight and I was tired of his cooking (which was boiling hot dogs and throwing frozen fries into the oven). I found I actually really enjoyed cooking and my mother encouraged it by buying me some nice cookbooks. My wife and I want our child, at a young age, to be active in the kitchen and learning those skills. Honestly, I think basic life skills such as cooking, laundry, balancing your bank account should be things we bring back to schools.

My guess is that it's this attitude that's led to the recommendation that he serve at least 30 days.

I want to see that Pre-sentencing Report so badly that it hurts. The Barneswalker does a whole lot of whining about how he can't see why the sentence is justified by the evidence in the report. Sadly, he doesn't go into any detail at all about why this is the case. Normally, I'd expect him to cite chapter and verse. ie, Report says Nick does X. Recommends Y. This is not justified because of Z. Clearly, Nick wants none of this in the public record, presumably because it'd be humiliating and provide more evidence of what a complete fuck up he is.,

The truth is, a custodial sentence is absolutely within the guidelines for an offence of this nature and magnitude. Nick's guilty plea got the charges dropped against April and Kayla, but the actual sentence was always going to be dependent on the Pre-Sentencing Report. Well, now it's in and it's recommending prison. I bet there were a whole lot of high fives being slapped in the Kandayohi County cop shop and prosecutor's office when that dropped. ^That stupid motherfucker who accused us all of stealing his coke and rubbing it in his daughters hair? He going to jail!^

And you've also got to wonder how loyal this judge feels to his colleague, Judge Pussy Liquor. Rekieta publicly abused and defamed her -- in effect, dragging her off the case in the hope of getting a softer, more sympathetic judge. If I'm the judge here, I'm strictly going by the recommendations in the pre=sentence report. I'm taking the recommendations exactly as written. Probation service are best placed to evaluate Nick's needs re. retribution and rehabilitation. Let's go with their recommendations, and if Nick doesn't like it, he can appeal against sentence. It's not as though mommy can't afford another go-round in the system.

As noted by others, the pre-sentencing investigators may have received reports from Nick's mandated "drug outpatient" sessions (rehab), where the program leaders may have noted that Nick was being a smarmy "I'm too good for this" faggot and proceeded to relay that to the PSI.

As always, Nick is his own worst enemy. A pathological need to box his way out of a corner, even when it's not in his own interest.

I suspect Nick always believed he was going to win his case dismissal and had no intention of pleading guilt until forced to do so by no other option. The man sees nothing wrong in his actions and is dismissive of efforts to rehabilitate or humble him.

As a homeschooled graduate we had a school motto "We will not raise cripples " The meaning behind that was simple. You graduate an can care for yourself. Not a ward of the state or unable to work. its just hilarious to me that they did that while also deciding to homeschool their kids. i know plenty of parents that think their kids suck, but guess what, school is 40+ hours a week, you can even make it 50+ hours a week if your school offers some form of after school activities. We had a "late bus" that dropped kids off at 5pm, so middle school and high school kids could stay after for tutoring or any other reason. Instead they decided to spend even more time around their kids than usual with their retarded set up.

part of why they moved up there was because it was a "small town where everyone knows each other" and most of Kayla's family lives there. You'd sort of expect that to be another reason to have their own kids going to school with everyone else instead of homeschooling like a cult, but oh well.

i'm calling bullshit on this too, even if they can't show proof because he's homeschooled we at least have something called the SAT that would prove it, or even the PSAT, you can even take the ASVAB at his age. also IIRC he did show up on the dean's list or whatever for the top kids in the county school but it could also be a bad county, baltimore county had kids who were both top of the class and had SAT scores in the 800s.

If they actually want a chance of rehabilitating Nick they'd put him in the clink or force him into rehab. If he goes to prison he'd be fine after the first few days; he'd be in Minnesota clink not Baltimore or Compton clink. Worse-case, Nick becomes a prison bitch and gets fucked in the ass for 28 days. No problem, easy, he might even enjoy it. What'll eat at him is knowing there's people online dabbing on him and he's unable to refute or doesn't have his access to cult on Locals and Discord.

Financial and physical punishments won't get through to him because he's the smartest guy in any given room, even the prison showers.

His county seems small enough that it will probably be more drunks and shoplifters than anything else.

Let's be real. Nick is a piece of shit, and deserves worse due to putting his kids through everything and exposing them to drugs, but up until he descent into drug use however many years ago, he was a more or less upstanding member of society. He took care of his kids, or at least found means for them to be taken care of, was for all intents and purposes an active member in his church, and ran a popular YouTube channel that many people really enjoyed. He also has most likely paid more in taxes (the government's metric for contributing to society) than all but the richest 10% of the negro population of Minnesota combined. This is his first major run in with the law, and the law does tend to take into account how much shit (or lack thereof) you've given them prior.

I know Nick himself has more or less said that he was "always" a degenerate (and his college life seems a little sketchy); at the same time when I re-listen to some of the stuff he said in the past (interview in The Dick Show, 2019), his voice sounds noticeably different, sounds genuine, and most importantly--I don't think he's a good enough liar to keep that suppressed for that long.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that even if he was a decent person (albeit with a destructive personality) it still doesn't change the fact that's he's an incredible piece of shit and deserves punishment. Jail, probation, and community service are fine but he needs court-ordered rehab as well.
