I dunno, between Bores, Mike and Asa, there's plenty a reason for consideration.

That, and the topics for Bores and Asa have all but vanished into the ether. Which means that unless someone either revives or remake them, this is the only place to talk about the two.
 
I know about Asa and I respect him for the most part, but who the hell is Bores?
 
Chris Bores is no longer really relevant in any case. Asa, I'd say maybe, but only because he tries and tries (and fails) to be in the limelight.

Amen. I don't know about locking this thread, but it would be better off in Spergatory, but that's just my opinion. Nothing funny about these people. ( Save for one)

The only game reviewer I enjoy watching is Mark from the Game Room and he isn't even an "angry" reviewer, he's just a regular guy who, you know, actually reviews games without acting like he has an hybrid mental disorder that consists of tourettes and autism.

The only funny thing about avgn knock-offs is... You know what, I don't know what really makes them funny. All they do is copy someone's character, thinking that saying something like "This game is a pile of horse vomit from a ponies bunghole" is funny. Only people that would find that funny, I wouldn't know except maybe those who are fans of them I guess.
 
I think that's why in recent times, guys like Dunkey or Cryt1cal have gotten so popular, people are so fed up with the "angry" gimmick that when a new style of reviewing comes up (the anti-angry neckbeard combined with random humor) they get really popular just for the fact is something new and refreshing.

That may be the reason. When something gets popular, people would emulate it, especially those that want fame. With so much over-saturation, anything else will seem rather original and refreshing, prompting people to go to that instead.
 
Spoony is the other one I watch, he has become a guilty pleasure for me.

He has one of the most annoying fanbases, his ego has reached Chris like leves to the point its not even one of his gimmicks anymore, he really thinks he's doing gods work.

He's so fucking lazy all he does now is upload 2 hour vlogs about whatever movie/game is popular at the moment where he simply rants about said movie/game being worst than Hitler and telling everyone who likes them that they're probably autistic and he knows better than them because he's a "serious" critic.

Yet, for some reason... I can't stop watching. It's almost like a morbid curiosity for me, like watching a gruesome car crash, you know you're not supposed to look, but something inside you compels you to it.

Spoony was hilarious back in 2007-8, before crossover addiction took over the show and he substituted vlogs for reviews. He works better when reviewing something he loves in spite of its badness rather than something he hates. Look at his Yor review or his Phantasmagoria 2 LP. In contrast, his Final Fantasy reviews are just 10-part fanboy rants.
 
Most of these guys just seem like assholes who like to shit on things that other people like.

Yeah, that and/or some of them think that reviewing the same terrible game, such say Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde will make them popular. Not only that, but they do lack originality in whatever they would review, especially since they could lack whatever wit or charm that the AVGN has. Speaking of such critics, I remember seeing a teenager review Contra, saying it was bad. Looking back at it, I can't help but feel that he may of actually been a troll. If that is the case then mission accomplished because he did anger many viewers, prompting one of them to either do a rant or a video playing Contra as a way to mock him.

Which is exactly why I can't stand The Nostalgia Critic and AVGN. They may be characters, but they try so damn hard to be entertaining that it's painful.

AVGN used to be good but I think he just plain ran out of steam. I can't understand why The Nostalgia Critic is popular for the life of me. He's just so painfully bad. He's like the kid in class who thinks he's the class clown but everyone hates him.
 
Meh, for me, I just watch AVGN and Nostalgia Critic's videos for a decent time waster.

However, speaking of Nostalgia Critic, there's some controversy about one of his reviews during his return, which is his review about his Sailor Moon anime:

wow he watched it because of the skirts or some other shit
