In the past people either believed what they were told like good people do or were troublemakers who studied various ideologies and cared that the ideas of their preferred one didn't majorly conflict.

In 2025? This is the average "ideology enjoyer":

This is someone who has a gay "boykisser" avatar featuring the Chinese flag and who decided to post a comment on Youtube being supportive of fascism (the real kind) and Mussolini.

This is someone that has a profile calling themselves a "based gaymer fascist".

This person is probably young, but their world view is so buckbroken by the internet that every single thing they believe in conflicts with every single other thing they believe in. They've grabbed one of every flavour from the vending machine of ideology called the internet.

Coherent Ideology is dead and the internet killed it.

My political beliefs are whatever the Internet tells me because nothing is wrong on the Internet ever.

i mean even back in the 20s and 30s not-retards noticed that fascism and communism were like 99% similar with the only real difference being their justification for their tyranny

Any type of ideology has its flaws. To use fascism as an example.

Hitler considered slavs as untermenschen that are not capable of building anything civilized. I guess he s never been to Budapest or St. Peterburg.

Nazi race theory is explicitly anti slavic but for some reason almost every EE country had its own SS volunteer battalions fighting for the Nazis. Except of Poland maybe.

Self contradiction is a human condition.

This is probably just the result of dumb individuals gaining access to enough educative resources to misconstrue and cobble together things that bear the terminology and iconography of real world factions or philosophies, without actually having a firm grasp on any of them.

I feel like most of these types of people in the past would've, at most, had pedestrian opinions that were local to their community, but now globalism is the style of the time, as is being politically opinionated online, thus you get totally inscrutable nonsense from people who probably themselves don't actually know what they truly believe.

That doesn't mean coherent ideology is dead, it just means the ratio of coherent vs. incoherent is going to be much worse.

Or maybe.... just maybe.... retards always existed but back in the day, you would never find out what they think because a 1920's retard didn't have social media?

Issue with all ideologies is that it's easy to point out the logical inconsistencies. So people gave up and nowadays ideology is more of a fashion statement than a belief statement.

No ideology is applicable to all circumstances at all times and often requires nuance to nudge people towards the ultimate goal in areas where there is conflict. Too many people take an all-or-nothing approach towards political change when it is best done gradually.

On other words, people are stupid. That's why you see this most often with liberals ("Gays for Islam!") but cuckservatives also, alarmingly increasingly ("fags are heckin' based but trannies bad").

That's just another reason why religion is good, it's very clear on what to do and believe. You'll still get retards who try to subvert it but it's easier to refute them than it is to convince an Atheist """conservative""" to not love faggots.
