I liked the Netflix Daredevil & Punisher a lot, so I'm hoping it isn't complete garbage. That said, 'Born Again' is reported to be a stitched together Frankenstein's Monster of Disney's various attempts at bringing back Daredevil, so my expectations are low.

I'm still sad we didn't get Punisher S3. I wonder how a Punisher Noir series would do. Or Ghost Rider Cosmic. Or, and this is even more unlikely, a Medieval Punisher series, and the idea could be either Frank ends up being sent back in time, somehow, or he's vaguely implied to be an ancestor of modern day Frank.

She's much better than the other skeleton, but she's 40. FTR, Storm's about 32 at the moment in comics.

What is what they are gonna adapt, me wonders. I hope they don't go with the route of Storm being older than the main team like they did in Evolution.

This is particularly annoying because some people were mad at Channing Tatum being "too old" at 44.

Hollywood regularly has thirty year olds playing teenagers, it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

But I do have a feeling they'll go the "a black womyn is talking, listen and learn" route.

The ONLY entertainment I will have from any future X-men project will be if that sheboon from Wicked gets assmad about them casting someone else. So, to me, other than race swapping Storm (which was never going to happen), this is a good step. Hopefully she hates this chick.

Let the system sort it out for you:

I will get ahead of the criticism and say that Iron Man 3 ranks rather high, but it's only because I consider it part of my personal Shane Black trilogy: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys. It fits right in, much better than it does in the Iron Man saga or the MCU.

I think iron man 3 fits pretty well as i really like how it treats Tonys PTSD post avengers and taps back into the iron man 2 themes of how Tony uses the suits to avoid contact with others with the scene where hes working out while pretending to be in the suit welcoming Pepper home. I also really like the scenes where he has to make his own weapons to break into the mandarin compound.

Really i think its biggest issue is the ending with the destruction of all the suits and throwing the arc reactor in the ocean despite Tony still being iron man in the next dozen movies.

or i can just rewatch the mcu and refresh my opinions manually

At least they kind of addressed it in Civil War.
"I tried to quit, but then we had to deal with Hydra. And then, and then, and then..."

I like to imagine the creators of Storm were time travelers that decided to troll the American black community by having one of most famous black heroes have silky flowing hair.

Never forget she's not supposed to be simply black*, at least in appearance. She's a racial chimera with features from all the races, and cat eyes. Her skin is obviously black, but she's not supposed to have black facial features.
So of course, they draw her like she's fucking Grace Jones.

*She is of African heritage, but I'm not sure if her parentage was fully established from the start.

Non-MCU related, but read around the villain of current X-Men comic is meant to be Candace Owens, lmao. Makes sense, it was written by Gail Simone, who's terminally online.

I'm glad she does and she's not obsessed with her hair like most black Americans.

That's why Halle Berry was such a perfect cast, as she's mixed.

Her parentage is African, but IICR, she was some sort of "mystical" parentage through her mother's side.

I honestly think that Hollywood has an aging problem these days.
Most big stars are in their 50's and 60's.
You look, for example, at all the new male actors under 30 and they're all feminine twigs or other weird looking dudes.
The only people who look like they could lead a movie, and this woman does look good, are old, it seems.

Iron Man 3 is honestly one of the best MCU movies.
Sure, from the perspective of the larger universe, it doesn't fit and OMG THEY RUINED THE MANDARIN!!!
Fuck that, this is a good action comedy, the humor completely lands for me, Shane Black is a good comedic writer, it has actual themes, the action scenes represent how Tony feels at the moment, the only movie where Tony gets to be a badass without the suit, the list goes on.
On it's own, without thinking about magic stones and purple dudes, it's one of the best to rewatch, it doesn't require you to remember 17 other movies.
Years from now, when the MCU is long over, people will recognize that it's a good movie.

No kidding. I've noticed there's a current glut of "older actor now doing action stuff because they've still got it" movies (started with John Wick, and somehow, Love Hurts is supposed to be a thing).

John Wick and Nobody work. I still have to work out how. Maybe because they were relatively fresh at the time. All the rest of them feel like copycats.

Few like you and I stand nearly alone on this fucking hill.

I like Iron Man 3. It's almost a referendum on Marvel movies being capeshit in the first place, and posits that it isn't. It bucks against what Marvel has become: the idea that you can move the mantle of a superhero onto another character and that character gets the reflected glory without any of the work.

Tony is Iron Man because the concept of an Iron Man is tied specifically to Tony Stark. That's why anyone else feels like a pretender.

Also: I liked the twist with The Mandarin. Fucking bite me if you didn't. It was fun, unexpected, and didn't feel like a total ass pull.

This is just my opinion but i think Black's thought process went like this:
"How do I surprise people?
I can pull some storyline from some obscure book but someone online will find it and spoil the fuck out of it.
I need to subvert their expectations."

That's the issue with these comic book movies.
People acted surprised when Infinity War happened but everyone knew what the storyline would be since they introduced him in Avengers 2012.
IM3 was pretty much the only thing that ever surprised people in the whole MCU and to me, unlike Rian Johnson's subversion, this one worked because it didn't sweep the rug from under the story and instead expanded it and tied everything together, it was like an unofficial Sherlock Holmes 3 because Downey Jr had to solve a mystery with the help of a guy born in London.
