Personally I think it's likely overpromising or it's doing something similar to the basic Bethesda Wheel where the story is just picked based on your chosen dialogue options. It'd be neat in a game made by a competent company, but this is Chinese Room, who hasn't been competent for a decade or so.

It also relies heavily on you liking the character. I'm not predicting that to be the case.

Bloodlines 2 is more "spiritual successor" than sequel to "a competently good game by 2004 standards", say Paradox

Then why call it "Bloodlines 2". Call it something else, oh wait, you wont do it because of brand recognition and thats really all you got left because nothing about this game is looking appealing to neither normies nor fans of the original.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 won't be an "open sim" like the 2004 original game, according to Paradox Interactive

Then WHY the fuck call it Bloodlines 2?!

it'll be an action-RPG with a relatively linear story set in the World Of Darkness universe.

Sounds like slop, very likely it is too.

"it also reflects Paradox's view that the original Bloodlines has been "mythologised" a bit: people love the memory of it more than the reality, and there are aspects of the 2004 game, according to Paradox's deputy chief executive officer Mattias Lilja, that simply "wouldn't fly today". "

That reeks of cope. It also reeks of when mainstream devs legit told gamers to not expect games like Baldur's Gate 3 to be the norm. And as for the last part, we get it, we live in a post humor society where everything is gay and lame but in this case can you stop working on an universe literally called ""World of Darkness" ?

So how confident are Paradox that Bloodlines 2 will stick the landing, at this point? The answer, more or less, is "quietly", but it won't be the "same but better" sequel elder Nosferatus are hankering for.

They are literally telling you this will be bad LOL. What the fuck is that even mean "quietly" ? This has PR damage control written all over.

Lilja downplayed associations with the original game when I asked whether Bloodlines 2 would still be some kind of immersive sim. He also suggested that Bloodlines hasn't aged all that well, and that taking inspiration from it too zealously could be counter-productive.

So basically they are trying to downplay the quality of the original in a hopeless attempt to make their slop look better.

"GUh, actually guys, the original wasnt that good, ya know? But this will be also like the original but not really"

I assure you none of the niggas that are working on this played the original to its entirety.

"I actually played Bloodlines 1 quite recently, and it is a good game, but it is also an old game, and there are many things that would not fly today," Lilja said. "But I understand why people were super psyched by it in 2004, because it had a lot of cool [elements], and the feeling of being a vampire is really strong, regardless of other features. But I think people, they remember their feelings about it. And if they replayed it, I think they would see that it's a competently good game by 2004 standards, now that it's patched.

"I actually played Bloodlines 1 quite recently"

Nigger, thats a lie and you damn well know it.

"competently good game by 2004 standards"

Its considered one of the best western RPGs already by the 2004 standards. And standards diminished quite damn a lot so going by that logic, Bloodlines is even better than it was back then so you are digging yourself deeper here, faggot.

They could release the next skyrim but 5 times as good and it'll suffer all the same, knowing itll require 5 different AI frame generation softwares to run at 50 fps with a vaseline overlay

There is that Skyrim mod that was seeking to remake VTM Redemption and it looked pretty bitching. Not sure what happened to it tho, maybe its still going or maybe it got fucked.
TL;DR Phyre is a 'fearsome' and famous Elder whose backstory will be made up by you as the story goes rather than established in the beginning.

Going with an Elder vampire really destroys a big part of the charm of the original, that we are fresh into this new world and despite being a "fearsome vampire", we are a little fish in a big pond with creatures far more powerful in more ways than one.

"A betting Man", pretty ballsy name for a trailer. I'm betting this shit won't ever come out and if it will it will be shit. Remind me, in what year was this game first announced? How long ago was that first gameplay trailer?

That was a build from a different studio and we arent entirely sure even if it was actual gameplay and not just some rendered shit to look like gameplay.
That version was scrapped and they literally started production over. So these recent trailers are for this new version, not that it looks any better...if anything, it looks worse because the first version at least seemed to be trying (but failing hard) to replicate the original, this one aint even trying.

My biggest fear with the game is that it'll be like swansong. Competently made and written but so... Limited and bog standard.

The player characters in that are so immoral and evil that literally the best ending for humanity is having everyone die. (They don't even blink an eye at the literal slave trade shit they engage in with humans. There's piles of bodies in the basement and literally no dialogue of guilt for it )

So on top of there being no charachter creator, we have now hit peak Body Type A or Body Type B with this game. You get to play as a Non-Binary Dude, or a Non-Binary Dood

Literally no effort, just straight up slightly more feminine head on the male body.

Literally and figuratively non buynary.

It just blows my mind. How could they fuck up such an easy layup? Sexy Vampire game. The guys want to play as a suave, dangerous and powerful monster out to "slay" the ladies and the competition, while the gals want to play as a sexy femme fatale that "slays" in three inch heels. Nobody wants to play as a gender blob worried about pronouns!

WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND??!?!

It's basically illegal to acknowledge that women have breasts and generally most pronounced hips and buttocks now.

I've seen people call a picture of a lady wearing a normal sundress more modest than 90% of the shit I see on a daily basis "gooner shit."

Sexy is bad.

It's especially egregious considering what the characters were like in the first VTM:B. They did not shy away from the 'hot dangerous monster' vampire stuff in that one.

People suprised over body type A or B. They bragged about having a gay muslim charecter. An ungodly creature prays to Allah, and is gay. This is three levels of retarded.

Don't you dare impugn my Assamite bros by calling them godless.

A gay vampire being part of a clan called Assamite is hilarious.

Honestly i haven't wanted a game to bomb as hard as this one, it actively pisses me off. It can't be that hard to take what was good about the first game, put it into a new game and release it in an incredibly stable state to a roaring ovation.

Literally just yesterday I was staring at the new young female hire and thought "That's what actual realistic tits are. Modest, nothing that turns your head around to stare". She's practically busty compared to that thing, and she's not even fully developed yet.

Imagine if they had spent more time developing this game than making 20 fucking spin-offs. It would've released before peak DEI and have actual sexuality and celebration of VAMPIRE SEDUCTION, a core fucking concept of the fantasy. Why'd they try so hard to make WoD a multiverse? I don't even recall the battle royale let alone if it ever released.

Man that battle Royale was a blip because it was next Gen, required you to register an account on the Internet ( that was a pain in the ass.) and the gameplay was incredibly boring.

Seriously the death animations for shooting someone were some of the blandest fade to dust animations Ive ever seen. Bout the only cool thing to come out of it were the holy spec ops crusaders that functioned as the out of bounds kill team

the head crusader shows up very briefly at the end and he's literally cooler then everything else. Why can't I play as this guy? They gave him the most generic name too. " the entity"

Was it even a multiverse? If it was they did a piss poor job.
