The first thing would be "Gamergate-related harassment", then some tweets about being DDOS'd and articles about running for congress. The vast majority of people who cared enough to even do such a search would probably only click the wiki article.

It seems to me that googling Wu's name and gamergate would paint Wu as a sympathetic character. No one is going to care that Wu's game sucked or that the game wasn't on time or that Wu may have embellished things.

On the other side of the coin, Wu will much more than likely lose. The goal of your first race isn't necessarily to win, though, it is to start building alliances, and being a sympathetic person. Any of her sins pale in comparison to those of people who have won much bigger elections, so I really don't think people combing through Wu's gamergate history, Wu's threads on a "twoll board" like Kiwi Farms or /cow/ will matter, but for bolstering the bullied angle.

I wouldn't be so sure this would help, because as we all know, John can be given a script, a shitload of cash, and have as many obstacles removed from his path as possible, and can still fuck shit up royally.

Revolution 60 and his attempts to be a professional victim during GamerGate failed hard on his ass. Wikipedia might try to whitewash it, but he has far more enemies than friends, even on his own side, and even the most hardcore SJWs find it bit hard to defend Wu without feeling a little dirty these days, and many of their leaders hate the shit out of him for making them look bad.

And if none of that screws him over, he'll do the job himself. His campaign is a fucking joke that would not stand up to intense public scrutiny, his past is a minefield of embarrassing shit any opponent worth their salt would be bound to exploit, and there is too much dirt saved (Wu's burning of their Twitter did nothing to prevent this) for him to bury any of it. On top of that, he's terrible at building alliances and keeping allies due to being an attention whore who refuses to do anything resembling real work or display any ability to downsize their ego to get people to work with him for any significant amount of time.

He's fucked no matter what, mark my words, we're just here to watch the trainwreck.

Also worth noting, Brianna Wu has actually had her friends alter her Google search results to make Lolcow Wiki and the Kiwi Farms appear lower on the list. It worked for about a week.

I can't be as optimistic as most of you guys about her inevitable failure. I mean, I don't believe that she will win, but if she's already receiving donations, then her true goal is being met. Most people will not look for any more information about her beyond headlines and as long as she keeps blocking people on Twitter, then she can keep a lot of questions about her legitimacy at bay.

I'd say that the best that we can hope for is if she botches any interviews, either by not actually knowing a thing about politics, or by getting grilled by an interviewer that actually did their homework. Until then, I foresee her continuing to receive donations from uninformed individuals.

About a third of the voters in the Eighth are of Irish and/or Italian descent. Can't find a religious breakdown for residents of the district, but Flynt/Wu definitely faces an uphill battle with his loony-troony stance on social issues.
