I just don't see how pat's lawyer is going to be able to prove they know that a call is a hoax. Even if they know previous calls have been hoaxes they won't know a current call is a hoax until they respond.

The thing is that the suit is in the court of the Eastern District of Wisconsin, which encompasses quite a lot of territory.

So while this district still does contain a generous share of pepperoni Americans, they won't quite comprise 40% of the population like they do within the City proper.
 
The funniest outcome is that Fatrick gets a payout from the city, but ends up having to split that with the lawyer and use his half to repay his mother in law for what she paid Quasi. Even when he wins he loses.

I for one am boring and perfectly content to not bother trying to make predictions about systems I know next to nothing about. Not just because I have zero experience in legal matters, let alone about laws in a place I don't live, but also because I know that what eventually transpires will be so completely insane and unpredictable that even people knowledgeable about such things will be blindsided.

Stg though if Fatty gets LotY stolen again after the court case happens I'll know the votes are rigged.

Honestly I am torn.

On the one hand, fatrick winning the suit and getting a bunch of shekels out the deal would be undeserved fortune in the extreme, akin to Chris Chan winning the lottery or some such, and this plus the notion of pig man managing to flail his way into a fairly unambiguous W does not seem to sit right to a lot of people given how much of an unironic unambiguous piece of shit he is

How so? Other than footage from his his porch security camera, what relevant documents can they even request from him?
Patrick's lawyers, on the other hand, are surely requesting a lot of police reports, internal police emails, body cam footage, etc.
Sounds to me like discovery is in Piggy's favor simply because the other side has all the interesting docs.

Unlike some other posters, I'm still rooting for him to lose though - call me petty, but I'd begrudge him a win. And as the debt saga has shown, a legal loss can also lead to a lot of new lolcow content for him.
But ideally, he only loses after being cross-examined in a hearing which gets recorded for the public. That would be sweet. Unlike on Twitter, he won't be able to block uncomfortable questions or insist only his narrative be heard. He'd sweat hard, trying to muster whatever self-control he can to avoid childing and prisoning opposing council.
