Anthony truly would be happier if he just did a show using a phone camera like Opie does.
To be fair, IIRC Cumia had all the equipment already from him doing LFTC episodes in the late 2000s.

That's what inspired Rogan. He was shocked some meathead Italian like himself could do an entire show on his own from his house. Cumia would just turn it on, do a post on Twitter and basically do his own version of O&A with just him and his girlfriend and someone running the cameras and they did everything a radio show does except it was at his house. They took calls, played clips, etc.

Like what stern had 200 people doing and Cumia did it with pretty much just himself. his friends would pop over or call in and it felt less like a radio show and more like "a hang" Cumia felt so natural it practically feels unreal.

Cumia was just down in his basement shooting the shit with his buddies, drinking beers, and the mics caught it but they obviously didn't need to be there. Like if the show wasn't on it would be the exact same conversations.

Honestly if Cumia just did this show it would have been a hit. The camera was a "fly on the wall" and it looked great. He still was able to pull up the clips and everything. He looked so nervous being in front of the camera and doing a show solo.

Joe Rogan was inspired by the Opie & Anthony show, Cumia, and Tom Green. Shows he was a guest on. The "hang" he obviously got from the O&A show. Anthony and Tom set up a studio in their own homes as a lark so that they could play pretend talk show hosts like Carson, Letterman and Leno for fun. By the time stand-ups were doing their own podcasts that lark started to turn into a job and less fun. Even Joe doesn't seem to want to do his podcast today.

So Norton is gone and it's just The Show for now until they figure things out.

Couple of weird references to taking proper breaks at sensible intervals and the show is cut short to replay the first hour so who even knows if it will actually keep going or if Sam is working on a temporary extension again until stuff gets sorted out or he gets the boot.

PalTalk blew Joe's mind. He was in studio for the egg nog challenge and the semi viral video of Pat from Moonachie doing the baby bird. He loved the idea that you could have an occasional video element to interact with fans and occasionally get flashed by a bunch of 6's.

From what I can find, O&A started using PalTalk the same year Howard TV launched. Howie had better reach but was still under FCC regulations. Either way, Joe always went the non-FCC route with his show and I think that came from Ant. To some degree, I think Opie and SiriusXM both pushed back on the show using it but Ant demanded it. Opie thought it was a distraction and SXM saw it was people listening to the show for free.

Edit- I'd almost guarantee that Jim is trying to sell Sword Fight, his show with his husband, to SXM.

Honestly, Soren Wormholepounder is more entertaining than Jim. He never does anything to contradict the top. Ron going on Sword Fight and stirring shit between the two of them was one of the funniest fucking things I've seen in a while.

he's going viral!
Don't forget to pick up the t-shirt from the F.H. Riley's gift kiosk, right in the heart of Huntington Beach.

The latest Attack Dog Opie: Unleashed arc has been the most entertaining he's been in a long time and more entertaining than watching Cumia chuckling in front of his bookshelf. It's very telling that all Opie has to do is make a one minute video making fun of Cumia's glasses and Ant feels he has to respond by talking about it for 40+ minutes on his stream and AGAIN on one of his ex-employees shows (which sums about half of the shows he is still able to guest on.)

Because Opie can make the streaming equivalent of a shitpost in the comfort of his Noo Yawk area home while Anthony had to relocate hundreds of miles away and got bought out by his former employee who fired his buddies as his first course of action.

If you go on Opie's stream and ask him a question in a beer money super chat, he'll go off for 15 minutes. The dude does not give a fuck anymore. The Psycho is BACK!

but yet in the same breath he'll play victim. "those guys are OBSESSED with me"

I suppose you can take this with a grain of salt, but Opie's said on some streams (especially the ones where he's drinking beer) that he says and does a lot of shit as a work.

Personally, I think he's genuinely bitter about how certain people threw him under the bus. I also think he gets genuinely annoyed when he thinks people are lying about old shit; one time, someone on his stream asked a question about the old elevator video with Half A Hulk Face and he thought it was a troll. However, when he says blatantly ridiculous shit, I think it's a work.

Then again, I sometimes skirt the line of white knighting for Opie, so 🤷‍♂️

The streams with the veggies were really fucking funny, though.

Opie has always excused his bullshit as being kayfabe. It's not. He's an unpleasant fucking person who found a niche, and is still mad he got kicked the fuck out of it.
Sam Roberts is the type of sickly puppy your vet explains "yes, he COULD live, but you really have to consider quality of life."

I don't think this is quite true. He's gotten other radio offers since getting fired. The problem is that the amount of money attached to those offers are not even close to what he made with satellite and that bugs him more than anything. They also want him to do a fuckton more work than his satellite gig. Were he cast into obscurity, he would dry his tears with his wads of cash and enjoy life out on Long Island with his yappy dogs. However, he is simply a has-been, which I'm not sure he's comfortable with.
