Just an aside, she was allegedly nearby for an unrelated reason. That place is also so volatile that not even the emperors including Hirohito would want to touch it and they have an exhibit saying the US was intentionally baiting Japan to war (lmao).

Ah yeah the anime, the first for AL, was very yuri. It didn't really follow the game's storyline, but it did have a lot of lesbo. The second anime had Biscuit and her sister very tsundere... but then again anime girl sisters are just lewd by default.

I think maybe in asian countries sex isn't real sex unless a dick is involved so it is fine? Just my autistic 2 c-quarters.

I'll be the Devil's advocate: Those are very weird choices, though. I don't agree with the supposed reasoning of CN, given it's Reddit saying it, but those books are all very anti-Chinese if I'm gonna be honest. China is presently participating in genocide with the Uighur and The Book of Esther is about Esther preventing her people from going through genocide if I remember right. China also actively colonizes, erasing Tibetan culture for instance, and Things Fall Apart is a criticism of colonization. Handmaid's Tale is similar in that women can be abducted in China and nobody gives a shit if the man is a high enough class, like that was a thing that happened in a restaurant where a rich or connected fellow was hitting on a girl and she rejected him so he and his goons beat the shit out of her and walked away like it was nothing. Plus there was a digital idol in China that was "kidnapped" but she later recanted because I imagine worse was waiting for her after she initially revealed it.

Never mind that these books are all pretty leftist by our standards, they're not what the audience is interested in in the least. They're incredibly stupid books to choose from a business standpoint and given the shenanigans with Daiyan, I am starting to wonder if the writers or someone on the team is actively trying to antagonize the players. This is the kind of shit I'd expect from the likes of Druckmann who inserted a Holocaust lesson into a game where everyone is being wiped out by a fungus... or like those weirdos who say that the predominant market should feel uncomfortable with the nonsense they put into stuff.

I don't have a horse in this race and as I said before I'm not particularly versed in the lore, but that's what my gut is telling me.

I mean honestly I don't know what reddit or the CN fanbase are thinking when it comes to these responses but I love me some good drama, reminds me of the time where CN women players killed their cats over a character in Genshin.

I doubt those were the only books in the library and there are probably dozens of literary references there that chances are none of the writers read,nand were just thrown in because they sound like they fit enough in the general threats of humanity under oppression. But schizos did what they do best and take a tiny subset and cry about it being a conspiracy.

Heya,

CN Player here, though haven’t been living in CN for 10 years , still kept close ties to the CN players base.

This post will be a long one. I'll list the drama timeline , and I am happy to talk about the player base , but will not include too much personal thoughts, I’ll try to just translate some timeline and be objective as possible just to present the information. I’ll try to outline it if the information is only a rumor, even rumor will be included anyway, maybe just for a laugh.

The only background information you need to know, if you don’t know anything about GFL1, is that it’s a mobile game where you command a bunch of “military dolls” with connections representing real life firearms in a pseudo post apocalypse setting. In the game you can “oath” a unit you like , simply put, the player can “marry” the character. So understandably, OG players have some degree of sentimental feelings towards them.

The 2nd game is 10 years later since the ending of the first , spoiling the ending for the first game somewhat which has not been released yet. Most of the units have left players, and the player's character is now a cripple.

EDIT:

Though this post is pretty negative from a general view, I'll stress the point that the game itself imho is pretty well-made. The Xcom combat is pretty interesting and all the model/ animation looks nice. If you are excited to play this game, please do not let this post deter you from being excited. The drama is just silly and funny.

As you follow this timeline you can see most of the complaints are about world setting / story stuff.

Let’s begin with the drama timeline, I’ll include all in-game stuff and external stuff. This list will not only be limited to the “NTR” drama.

following chinese NGA forum’s timeline sheet:

28/Sep/2023 NTR Drama begins. (Do note from now on, each incident listed will receive continuous mockery and complains)

  1. 4th CBT Begins, when installing the game, the installer will not create a new folder by default, instead it’ll install where you direct it to. When uninstalling, it’ll delete everything in the same folder regardless if you have other files there.
  2. 4th CBT data was unpacked. 1 Hour and 30 mins ish voicelines of Daiyan (type 95) was found. In the voice file, she called NPC Raymond’s name 66 times. Mention obsessed with his music. Never mentioned commander (player) once.
  3. As Raymond, a terrorist going to initiate an attack. Daiyan stopped Springfield from reporting and told him to surrender. She also accepted Raymond mom’s keepsakes
  4. 4th CBT story, MP41 pretends to be a certain NPC’s late girlfriend. Ends up having real affections.

  1. Jewish drama begins. Players notice the book some dolls are reading is the Hebrew Bible.
  2. After the player compares the text and appearance of the book, it’s confirmed to be “Mishnah”.
  3. Players attempt to name their character Hamas, but cannot as it’s listed as “sensitive name”. Israel is fine.
The map of the command room is obviously the Middle East, while the plot locations in the first six chapters are all in Ukraine.   1. Writer was suspected to be mocking players even more by placing a few books in the game. Placing 'The Handmaiden's Tale' in GFL2 is actually quite ironic. This dystopian book's setting at the end of the world fits well in GFL2, but in the book, women are purely tools. Women with the ability to bear children are trained to become 'Handmaids' and are assigned to the households of villainous commanders who lack offspring, to take turns bearing their children.
Other books include “ Lord of the rings” (mockery of player’s “oath” with dolls.)etc.

My note is generally that Chinese people support Palestine. In public eyes, supporting Israel's war is a nono.

  1. Devs panic, in the early morning, removing books. Fixing text removing said contents above.
  2. Doll Tololo went to spend the night star gazing with a grandpa, causing more complaints.
  3. New player survey, adding options for players to choose that if the player gives negative feedback, they can pick from “community is too pessimistic / Story is too deep i cannot understand” , more outrage.

  3. Producer’s steam account was doxxed, shit talking Sifu, Armor Core 6, Division etc. Note it’s actually shit talk, not just criticism. Swearing etc.

  1. China dresses / Evening dress outfits announced. More drama about Daiyan/ Reymond. Player reminded in GFL1 , OTs-14‘s revealing evening dress outfit was only worn when she ran away to drink at a bar alone without the commander.
  2. Returner bonus was added to the game, the game literally was up for public beta for about a month. Players calculated they’ll get more stuff just by not playing with the returner bonus.

Honestly, a lot of this just confirms to me that MICA are taking themselves way too seriously and are very angry at players for expecting more of what made GFL1 than whatever it was they were trying to put out here. Both sides are acting like children, but given that the players are the customers they have the right to act as such. Especially if the product is so drastically different from the original and the fact this is a live service game, their money is the lifeblood. MICA should be professional and address their concerns appropriately, but instead they kept antagonizing their audience... or some dipshit was anyways.

I've said it before: I think MICA is bordering a little too close to insurrection regarding China, a lot of their book stuff seems more an indictment on China as a whole instead of the playerbase, but the playerbase are likely nationalistic so they're attacking them anyways. I can see how the players think they're being attacked with those, but those books cover events that more match what China is doing right now. Genocide, reinstituting patriarchal demands, etc...

All of that aside, though, the way they treat the commander in GFL2 is practically Joel tier if true. Again, I've always had a gut instinct when it came to this shit and typically know when a dev is being an asshat. They're definitely attacking their audience and misgauged the response. They were so high off their own farts and how "smart" their story was that they really thought people play mobile games for that. They don't. They play them for the dopamine hits and if you're giving them shit that gets in the way of that, such as belittling them and ruining their waifus... you're just gonna make them angry. Very angry. That's where they get their dopamine replacement. Now, they've managed to make misery a decent mix in with that dopamine hit in GFL1 because you have to know what happens next with the power of hope, but they pretty much crushed hope in every way in GFL2 it seems. So all people have is anger.
 
The amount of game devs that attack their own playerbases have been propping up lately. Usually, if a game dev fucks up, they'll apologize and try to rectify their mistakes, such as Valve, Nintendo, Wargaming and Gaijin. But the amount of devs that are intentionally pissing off their audiences have increased. Before its usually 1 dev, like Relic Entertainment and Dawn of War 3, but now, you have Naughty Dog with TLOU2, Overkill with PAYDAY 3, Red Hook Studios with Darkest Dungeon 2 and now MICA.
 
It's very bizarre because Neural Cloud has been playing up the "Everyone loves the Commander Professor" angle. So I wonder what team is working on GFL2 because they could take some pointers from Neural Cloud's team. Granted, they've been killing characters in that game, too, but they also might bring one back if some rumors are true. Either way... I'm kind of glad the other developers are at least taking notes on what NOT to do.

MICA has always been a mystery to me. They're of course incredibly high on their own farts and probably really believe their knock-off Metal Gear Solid/Command&Conquer/STALKER robot sex dolls plotline was something unique (dunnow, maybe it is for gacha game standards). The point is they developed a game that was successful because it was a raifu collecting experience. People for sure do not play GFL1 or PNC for "gameplay" (minor power level, I still log in occasionally and all the latest events have been utter disasters gameplay wise to the point that even the lifeless otakus that play ranking maps and the like are throwing the towel and dropping the game) they play it to collect gun sex bots.

One wonders from where they got the money for years of development and several cancelled or delayed projects. GFL2 got out and it required AAA development time and God only knows how many resources, in a gacha market that's immensely more murderous and even the raifu market has been cornered by stuff like Blue Archive. And now the admittedly retarded NTR drama sinks its chances even further: what are they going to do if their flagship title fails after years of underperforming?

The Chinese will probably run private servers if they go completely defunct. Otherwise... no idea, I'm really wondering if they don't have some rich fucks in the company because their behavior reeks of "royalty" that are usually untouchable and as such act however they please. Or maybe they're backed by Jewish interests? Oh, that'd be hilarious. All those books and references... and it turns out there's some Israeli investment firm.

I feel like you are giving bugmen the benefit of the doubt that they know a thing or two about game preservation. So many games in China have died but no private servers exist for them. Hell, I doubt Chinese players in general know how to use a PC given that most are phone players.

The CN players, abused by CN censorship (AL has Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany inspired factions, CCP no liek that) and seeing GF drama, complained.

Yostar apologised, Agency said it would have been female only, CN playerbase backed down.

I can't even blame anyone, this was a simple error, yet after GF NTR drama its enough to set off alarms.

They're more likely to pull it off than any other country. They preserve a fuck ton of shit if they can't get the source code. Only Korea matches them for this level of autism.
 
Pretty surprised no one is speaking on the second game releasing. Looks really good, at least visually. I'm happy gacha started to move out of jpegs.

Also a question, is Reverse Collapse a part of the GF universe? Do you need to play the game to understand what happens in it?
