Generally you'd expect people from a small town with a social relationship (ie, through both being members of the same Amateur Dramatics Society) to give somebody a pass in this situation. At the very least, you'd expect them to do minimal coverage.

I think the value of figuring out how intensely Kayla “cheated” on Nick is in terms of figuring how much of a terminal dishrag she is.
