I keep questioning why she decided to reenroll at NYU. Like if she was attending class, getting student housing, or getting asspats from it I'd get it, but it seems to me like the entire institution is just ignoring her until she goes away. I'm wondering if her parents are giving her money that's conditional on her being enrolled and she's trying to be technically enrolled for as long as possible, and I guess she wants to be in NYC so it's NYU. This current hospital over finals saga seems like an attempt to avoid SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) issues from flunking all of her classes this semester. If she just straight up flunks this semester I think they will kick her out for good but since it's from a "hospitalization," she might get one more chance.
She's financing her life/LARP with FAFSA funding. NYU was probably the clear choice cause she'd been there before. It's not really about Academia - although part of her might actually think she's gonna be a great academic, I'm not sure - it's about a convenient way to finance her "leg disabled" LARP.

I doubt she got anything from FAFSA when she was under 25 and I don't think they'd give her need based aid on re-enrollment with her abysmal grades even if her EFC is lower now that her parents don't count. We know her parents are loaded. My bet is that her parents threatened to cut her off if she wasn't enrolled in classes or working and so she "went back to school."

Ah, I'd missed that she'd been emancipated. I'm surprised it worked because of how much financial support they seem to be giving her. My understanding has been that FAFSA tends to be really strict about the definition of "independent student" under age 25 because everybody would be emancipating themselves if it was super simple. On the other hand, I do personally know someone who grew up loaded and was "emancipated" in her late teens and went to college on a full scholarship through a program for low income kids, but in her 20s her family still pays for her luxury vacations on a regular bases.
Not only does she claim emancipation, she says she successfully sued her parents for child support for herself. Iirc, no one has been able to verify if this is true, but that's Vicky's story and she's sticking to it! Until she forgets and contradicts herself later.
This is why I’m curious if there was ever any mention of a fandom on her TL.
