You can be locked up for the crime. The issue is if a crime committed before a probation sentence was given out constitutes a probation violation. That generally violates the idea of not being punished for something ex post facto.

No, retard. You cannot murder someone then get a deal on a drug charge, then the State provoke your deal based on the murder. You get sentenced separately for the murder, but a pre-condition of the deal is that it holds until you do somethign to break it after. It isn't an invincible law shield, but it is an unbreakable contract.
