Can’t get over that he literally looks like Buffalo Bill. We’re approaching levels of clown world that can’t be good for long term reality.

I skipped their horror movie thing, I’d rather watch James Rolfe phone it in than that. I loved the trivia episode though. It had the best mix of nostalgia, Mike’s sore-loserisms, their collective dementia, and God King Rich’s pity for his most loyal subject.

I had completely forgotten about this until now.

Same, I'd forgotten half of these movies and had no idea what they were talking about, in some cases even after they answered what they were talking about. But, in my defense, I haven't watched some of those old episodes in a long time and have never actually seen the movies. I'd actually forgotten about the VHS episode.

Guess it's time for a rewatch.
I remembered plenty, but I got into Best of the Worst fairly recently compared to most others so a lot of their content is still fresh in my mind. Plus I have a knack for remembering completely useless information.

Fun so far, but as someone who puts on BOTW as background all the time, I can't remember the names at all when given an attempt to summarize it for a question. I know Geteven, just not the way Jay asked it.

edit: the second round is perfect, just name anything you can remember from a movie
It feels like they put this entire thread on celluloid.

Patreon Update:

Getting ready for the most miserable time of the year. There's actual movies on there btw, which is rare for the Wheel.

Looks like the Christmas episode for this year, is a WOTW episode.

Another Patreon Update:

A new era begins...

our slow transition to a quiz show channel has begun! But fasterer! Jack has found this in a dusty antiques shop where you barter or make a price offer? Something. He paid $40 for this WORKING Quiz-o-matic machine which appears to be at least 50 years old. Lights up. Master control switchboard. 10 individual buzzers. No more guessing on who rang in first. We're going to test this baby out soon!!!

The idea that, come ten years, when they’re pushing sixty and the channel has shifted from movie reviews to quiz shows in the exact same way it shifted from Star Wars reviews to movie reviews, is the greatest Christmas present I could receive.

And with their celebrity guests we're only a few years away from RLM taking over Hollywood squares.

I want the home version of Bloodhound Gang or Marilyn Madison.

It's always amused me that they kept relying on the host's best guess on hearing those cheapo buzzers instead of finding something that could actually show who buzzed in first like that set they just bought. You'd have thought they'd do something about it after the first time, but I guess booze does impair judgment.

I remember that exact set, though, I used one just like it for various quiz bowls during pretty much the entirety of my school years, elementary to high school. The school district must've bought a few sets decades ago and then sent one to each school. I wonder if they still have them.

Yeah of anybody to discuss starfighter I'd pick Mike. Especially since he loved referencing it in the plinkett reviews.

You know Mike is going to make Rich use the buzzer with no topper so he can rig games so he wins.

An unusual re:View pairing to discuss The Last Starfighter!

It looks like December will be jammed pack with RLM videos.
>re:view with Tim and Beardfat, not Tim and either Mike or Rich
Another re:view episode to skip I suppose, can't stand Beardfat at all. Shame, having Jack Quaid and Mike for Galaxy Quest followed up by Rich and Tim for Last Starfighter would have made sense in pairing off two sci-fi episodes of re:view with guests.

This is wider problem in the Humanities. Literature students know jack shit about important works, never mind bothering to read them. You could study a BA, an MA, and a PhD without even looking at a copy of Milton's Paradise Lost. That's insane. All of English poetry follows from it.

That's kinda shocking because Milton was studied extensively when I did my undergrad. As was Spenser and other works of the canon.

I can't imagine an English degree not requiring this unless things have changed drastically, and I can't imagine they have in the time since I was in post-secondary. I'm fucking brain-broken if this is true across English departments and not like that one weird liberal arts college (or whatever.)
