I think that the problem with how Max explains things is that he gives DGG, and Destiny, this cartoonishly evil description. When Destiny is more covert with his manipulation of people. That's where you're wrong, kiddo. He is absolutely using it now. There's no way Pxie gave consent to him sharing that video. She wouldn't be publicly denying she was intimate with him and telling him to go ahead and share the video around at the same time. He spread it without consent.
Very rarely will Tiny be very direct his "vengeance", don't really know how to put it in words, but I actually think that the way Tiny IS, is far worse than how Max describes him.
And I think that a lot of the problems with Max, with how he handled the article, and with how he describes Tiny, originate from Max's own narcissism. He desperately wants to paint Destiny as this very weak and pathetic person (which he is) but I don't think he's trying to describe reality, he's trying to describe Destiny and his community as a lesser form than Max himself, that's why he also started calling Destiny as not being actually that smart, just being manipulative and pathetic. Or only having high verbal intelligence, but lacking everywhere else. All those things which it didn't seem like he believed until their relationship turned south.
It's actually quite childish, for example, I realize my insults and deranged rants come off as schizophrenic and childish in a way, but Max really isn't self aware at all, it's very weird. He dramatizes everything.
Destiny's manipulation of his orbiters is just a simple carrot and stick, you want to kiss his feet so he interacts with you more so you gain viewers, and you don't want to shit talk him or cover things that he doesn't want you to, because although Destiny doesn't message you and threatens you that he'll cut you off, he will distance himself from you, and all his DGG Footsoldiers are programmed to do the exact same thing, they mimic his behaviour.
You basically become radioactive, without Destiny having needed to say anything, as they all teach themselves passively through chat. They'll make a condescending comment about why you are watching "X" person who is covering Tiny's personal life drama, they will say how that person has betrayed Tiny and Tiny should stop interacting with them.
There are no direct orders, and there are no direct threats, but that "thing" (Destiny being able to cut you off at any moment) does loom above those people.
I think that a way in which he passively teaches them is by his bans. He will give exaggerated/deranged ban lengths for the most simple comments. All of his chatters scroll up to see what the person said that triggered him so much, and then they realize what kind of behaviour is acceptable and which isn't, without Tiny having ever needed to say a single word of what he wants from them, they simply understand it and start judging other chatters for engaging in similar behaviour. Sometimes even snitching to mods by "ApeHands" and pointing out the chatter to ban.
