I think it's true that Destiny does it without outright threatening people because he needs plausible deniability. I think Destiny does things on a much more subtle level and allows most of his threats to be inferred. I think he's aware of it, though. When he makes big public spectacles of his falling out with people, he's basically giving his Footsoldiers a warning, even if he isn't directly threatening anyone. And when he applies it inconsistently, he keeps people on their toes so they don't really know where the line is.

Max really is retarded, though. He does project way too much. Lav has a much better read on Destiny than Max ever did.

Also, never forget that Lav was right about Destiny pitting women against each other because he gets off on it. She said he did it, he said he didn't, then he got caught doing it with Lav and his whores that were in JSTLKs discord.
