Everything he's said so far really really make it sound like he's going to plead not guilty. And given his claim that he has recordings of people saying they are going to set him up and conspire to get him jailed it further makes me think he's going to shoot to have the entire thing thrown out on merits instead of actually arguing the facts of wether he possessed or not or had a gun in connection to his drugs.

The way they are pursuing Ralph who is obviously seen as either a co conspirator or atleast a criminal associate of nicks makes it look pretty fucking gloves off. He's probably the most attention kandiyohi county has gotten in awhile and it's a publicly embarrassing drug addict who's accusing their local legal system of being corrupt and ran by judges with pussy liquor. The county itself has 40k population and spicer his town has slightly above a thousand, he's definitely up there as far as gossip and public eye goes in that area.

It's all made worse by him technically being a lawyer because that might make people who don't know much about hit give his claims of legal unfairness or corruption more credit.

He's the kind of guy you make an example out of. He would be extremely smart not to give them that opportunity.

Not at all.

The most likely outcome for this specific case is a non-custodial sentence of some kind - either a suspended sentence or probation.

Nick hasn't been charged with any offences related to accessing/sharing information from Aaron's Google account so that probably won't come into play at sentencing, either.

(c) A person named in any other clause of subdivision 1 who possesses any type of firearm or ammunition is guilty of a gross misdemeanor.

The max for that would be 1 year in prison and/or a fine of up to 3000$.

And that is the maximum. Nick would not get the maximum.

People keep bringing up Ralph's warrant as an indication that everyone with so much as a pinky toe dipped in the 'Rekieta Crime Family' business is going to get their dick nailed to the wall. I'll be honest, I'm not so sure that's the case. Remember, Ralph's warrant is just for contempt of court. I think all that happened there is that he just really pissed that one judge off by intentionally disobeying their orders and then taunted them about it by saying "YEW CAN'T CATCH ME, BISH! Correct. The only reason why people think jail is more likely now is because the prosecutor might ask for a upward deviation given all the fuckery that Nick has been pulling, and there might be some additional charges coming down the pipeline over the Aaron data breach thing.

Beyond that, he's likely still on track for a probationary sentence.

duloxetine isn't shielding you from alcohol interactions, at best it masks some of the acute symptoms of intoxication. you still suffer the full damage to brain and liver that alcohol causes.
popping antidepressant pills isn't going to save you from the inevitable liver cirrhosis and wernicke korsakoff coming your way.

No. Minnesota has strict sentencing guidelines and a judge has to explain the reason for a departure (up or down). Statistics discussed months ago in the legal thread showed that the majority (>85%) of cases followed the guidelines or were reduced--not counting the plea deals made for lower offences.

Nick is on track for a lot of probation and a suspended sentence. He may get the upper end of the allowable sentence, but probably not more and almost certainly no prison time.

It’s true - Ralph’s warrant is for contempt of court because of his behavior during the hearing. However, we do at least have some indication that the cops are potentially interested in him with regards to the Google account.


Go to 50 seconds in, and Aaron mentions that there’s the contempt of court thing and some stuff with him he can’t discuss. He goes on to say that “multiple people are involved”.

Still not a guarantee that they will pursue charges, but I don’t think Ralph’s ducked anything just yet. (Ralph, there’s still time to throw Melton under the bus and save yourself. Offer them Melton and see if they’ll drop the contempt charges. You can still parlay this into a W!)
