Does my "stronger understanding of April" include reading every IG comment and reply she's made plus, collectively, listening to around 3 hours of her remarks on STMS? I've done that, I'm ashamed to say.
I promise, "supplant" is not part of her vocabulary. I have no idea what her IQ is. Plenty of people are smart but don't use sophisticated words. The point is that Nick was writing many of those Xeets. I'll die on that hill.
I'd respectfully argue that it's overthinking to assume that April was writing all of those Xeets. Sadly, we will probably never know the truth unless Nick gets wasted on stream again.
We can agree that the entire episode was bizarre.
Your understanding of April absolutely includes the content you mentioned (no need to be ashamed btw, though you have my sympathies).
For my part, the person with the strongest understanding that we've heard from would be Aaron (who knew April before and watched her change into mini-Nick) which is why I defer to him. That said, Aaron isn't even completely sure either since April "mirrors" the people whom she wants to connect with AND Aaron has also related how controlling Nick can be.
I think we're roughly on the same page (Nick's influence was definitely at play), just for different reasons.
I've had instances over the years at college/work where more impressionable people would imitate my vocabulary (not my voice, just the words and word choice). It was flattering, if a bit off-putting at times because it didn't always sound the most natural coming from certain people.
Well, there's the common English meaning of "hypocrisy" and then there's the Rekieta meaning:
So, Nick's understanding of hypocrisy is rooted in critical theory/power dynamics. How... post-modern of him. Also, Nick's “My principles were extensions of courtesy, my rights on loan to others” smacks of his claims to have been living his "entire life for other people" back in late 2022.
Life is so unfair to poor longsuffering Nicholas, but wait... this would also mean that Nick's inability to offset the consequences of his incongruous actions make him a hypocrite even by his own
Unfortunately for Nick, he is unable/unwilling to recognize the connection between him making up his own rules/definitions for life and how unfair life appears to be.
