there are jobs in the military that do not require deployments. That said, for Jackie's job, she certainly didn't do enough active duty time to earn the GI Bill. When someone enlists, they have to do an 8 year contract. That contract is a combination of active and inactive time. You have to basically do your active part of your contract to get your GI bill (along with an honorable discharge). Jackie did like one year. They don't do 1 and 7 contracts. It's usually between 3 and 5, 4 and 4, or 6 and 2. What determines how much active time is how long your training is. So high tech stuff like nuclear power, missiles, etc. those folks do at least six years active.
I think the entire reason she dropped out of film school after the first semester. I don't know if she didn't understand how the GI Bill worked or if she thought she could just bullshit the school and the government.
The only two things I am certain about Jackie is that 1) she was a wheeled vehicle mechanic and 2) she didn't get her GI bill benefits.

The Pests did some digging on this character when he originally broke the Torswats story, and they found: Nothing. At all.
I can't be bothered at the moment to find the supposed real name of the guy running the account, but he doesn't appear to exist. He has no digital footprint and the few twitter posts he'd made prior to the Torswats story seem AI generated. Very fishy.
The consensus at ONA is this account is just Fed shenanigans to cover how they actually caught Torswats. It's probably an intern running it. What's absolutely batshit crazy about Jackie's behavior here is she has herself accused the account of being a fed operation, yet continues to instigate it, even after the FBI released a statement calling her a retard.

Unless Jax keeps pushing her "fans" to crank yank the PI they'll do their reach out and then move onto the next thing to be outraged at. Given the Jax-Pat love fest talking about cyber crime harassment can lead to him getting 1 or 2 PI posters as some kind of 'lets see if he likes getting what Patrick has happened to him' effort.
I kinda hope Jax keeps needling her followers to needle LEO. Because if they are of a high enough volume we can enjoy a new statement about Jax being wrong and asking her to STFU. LEO telling her publicly to STFU as she's wrong is FAR harder for her to dismiss with how they are Russians, trolls, stalkers, people who are angry over her excellent work, or disinfo agents.

I got up to some foolishness, and I got threatened with NJP twice, the first was to sort of scare me straight, i wasn't a good fit, the second i was told I could take early discharge, other than honorable or stay in and get the hit on my service record and would be hard for me to ever get a promotion. I took other than honorable, which was upgradeable down the road a bit (2 years), so my service record shows honorable now. The "other than honorable" isn't a bad mark, it's not dishonorable, it's just like 'sammich was sort of a shit fit and never should have joined, but he didn't do anything bad bad"
I reckon something similar happened to jackie, probably very similar to what i did. I got caught fucking women in the barracks for anyone wondering. The first time was a civvy, the second was an officer's daughter. I knew I should get while the getting was good.
