We know that both sets of parents did the initial cleaning but not what's happened since. Nick and Kayla wouldn't have been doing it but it's very possible that professional cleaners have been brought in at some point paid for by the parents.

I believe we should see at least more hearings scheduled in this case if it is still ongoing. Nick can keep claiming that the hearings are formalities that are unique features of Minnesota law, but I think we can suss out what may actually be occurring.

Kayla's parents live locally. They'd have to have been exceptionally uninvolved grandparents to be unaware that care of both the house and the children was sorely lacking.

It can be horrifying what can go on in a home that is hushed up to those outside. Especially so if theories that the Slettas fall into the category of 'incel prudes' that Nick was dissociating from, but it still washes without any animus implied.
