A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

@draggs, I just cant see how on Earth they last 5 years at this point, I simply can not see it. How do you declare war on your native populace a month in lmao
I mean obviously he's gonna last longer than Liz Truss, was having a bit of fun there, but there's no way there isn't another general election in the next 2-3 years and probably closer to 2 than 3. Especially when the economy is about to get even worse globally and especially in places like the UK

Go back to preddit, Margaret.
This wasn't ever a thing, by the way - the weird "purity" spiralling of the supposed far right in the UK is entirely artificial and retarded.

Britain doesn't have much of an antisemitic side. Germany does, Russia does, France does, and the USA inherited it from that.

So dumping Americanisms onto a British society hits the wrong note, it sounds strange.

>Russia sends anti-aircraft missiles to Hull

What would Labour actually fucking do at that point?

Keir Starmer seeing Liz Truss' speedrun and saying hold my pint
Isn't it strange that Liz Truss was ousted before she could bankrupt the economy (all lies) and Jeremy Hunt and Sunak were deployed to save the economy, with Hunt said he could do, only to be found £20 billion in the red when labour took over.

It's almost as if Truss was, I don't know, coup'd out because she wouldn't play ball with the WEF and IMF on turning the UK into a desolate, debt-ridden, third-world shit hole.

Bonus points that labour have pushed forward with truss's idea of on-shore wind turbines, a policy that Sunak reversed within days of becoming the tory nominee.

I would avoid towns as well. This heat and the social climate is begging for a proper kick off. After tea time I'd consider any major population centers off limits due to their immigrant populations. Doesn't need to be a full riot/protest for a couple of yobbos to cave your skull in.
I'm honestly as hard as a fucking rock just thinking of how badly everything is going to kick off once the clocks go 5 and most people get off of their jobs for the weekend.

Truss was a lib dem- even as a tory- until very recently. It is why she held a cabinet position for so long. She was in the Blairite wing of the Cameroons: social liberal and economically dim.

Like all female Tories vying for leadership, she tried to ape Thatcher's mannerisms and failed miserably.

I think we should remember to keep our expectations grounded in common sense in the run-up to these protests, to avoid any posters feeling despondency in a few days. In all likelihood, the short-term result will be that the protests fizzle out, the media apparatus will run a brow-beating blitz against "far-right" natives, and the government will bring in as many hyper-draconian surveillance measures as they possibly can. That's not to say that the protests aren't worthwhile in the long run, but it probably will be a long run.

The British state is not likely to fully collapse in the next 72 hours, so if you're feeling invested in things, take care of yourself and don't metpost your life away based on the assumption that The Revolution will be swift and total.

In summary, we are not back, nor is it over.

No it wont collapse in 72 hours nor should anyone go out and throw their lives away, but I would just give my two cents and say ignore any of those egoy faggots who want to doom pill you or insist doing nothing and resume patreon donations is the way either.
Making Starmers position untenable is the obvious path to victory, dont comply on any level with that cunt or his goons, make his leadership impossible.

You do realise that jews were expelled from England in the past?

It needs to happen again and soon.
You have to be really dense to look at Britain and conclude that Jews are the worst minority out there. Antisemites are such mongs.

Britain doesn't have much of an antisemitic side. Germany does, Russia does, France does, and the USA inherited it from that.
Even Nick Griffin wasn't particularly antisemitic when he was initially in the limelight. He is now, but he's pretty much the only antisemitic Briton who's not either a) Muslim or b) posh.

Disagree, that's not how it works. There wouldn't be another election unless Starmer lost the confidence of Parliament - plus Labour are a lot more reluctant to replace their leaders than the Tories are (see Gordon Brown). They'll limp along for five years getting increasingly unpopular.

You're jewish.

The only reason why "anti-semitism" isn't more common among native Brits is because jews heavily suppress and downplay the truth about their level of power and influence.

There will be another general election once Labour loses enough by elections that they can't resist the pressure. Give it 18 months for an announcement for an election 6 to 12 months after that, depending on how many by elections they lose and how badly they lose them. The economy in most countries is about to get even rougher over the next year at least

the person who hid the rape statistics of migrants in sweden is jewish. alot of the figures advocating for and implementing the importation of arabs is jews. they did it in spain when they opened the gates for invaders. theyre utter bastards. they just do it more sneakily subverting out institutions and raping their own daughters for the most part. idk how you can see jews literally bragging that they control the us government and elections and passing laws specifically to benefit them and think "oh must be a crazy conspiracy that the jewish wealthy in the west are using their positions to benefit their race over us"
