In the case of the 16 year old, he is 2 years away from being an adult. He has taken algebra and foreign language classes. Laundry and operating a microwave are not insurmountable tasks for even a spoiled kid. All humans have a natural instinct to seek food when they are hungry. They can figure it out. Same concept with not wanting to smell/be made fun of from wearing dirty, smelly clothes.

What that means is that the Rekietas were not stocking food in the house at all beyond what they ordered/ate while running errands. And I believe the layout of the laundry room made it impossible for the children to access it on their own. It's not neglectful to expect your teenagers to be reasonably self-sufficient. But to not even provide the necessary tools for them to be self-sufficient is textbook neglect. Blaming the kids only makes Rekieta look worse.

Coulda woulda shoulda, but none of that would have benefited the thread. It’s not a choice of how he could have done more, it’s about would you rather know less about a happening involving a lolcow. Anna would rather we know less because it benefits Nick and the other Balldowashers. We aren’t a part of the story we are just observing and archiving. Metokur’s stream would have benefited from the extra information and ultimately been more entertaining. No one but Balldo want less milk.

Addressing this, I believe in most of not all states, and NDA cannot be enforced against if the person reasonably believes that a crime was committed. If the nanny thought child neglect was happening, no NDA should prevent her from reporting that to the police.

I think you're misinterpreting my post though. Kids are smart and can figure things out, and since they didn't in this case, even the "why didn't they take care of themselves" argument falls apart. They didn't have food in the house to figure out how to microwave. That's neglect. They didn't have access to the laundry, and since their parents wouldn't do it that is neglect. Even by the toughest "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" expectations the kids were neglected.

Moving to the United States seems to have rid Viva of some Canadian. Normally they apologize for things, even if they aren’t responsible for it. It’s why the pajeets are ruining their country.
