People go to rehab/AA/NA/programs upon arrest for DUI or drug charges all the fucking time.

Many lawyers would tell clients to voluntarily check themselves into rehab. Many prosecutors will drop or reduce charges if they see the accused is actively seeking to get help and turn the ship around. Judge definitely take it easier on people who have completed rehab before sentencing.

Nick thinks going to rehab would be admitting some degree of culpability and the law pope is too smart for that.
