They had to hold a ton of episodes behind because of some issue with Toei in the background. At least the entirety of the Punk Hazard Arc was already dubbed before they started belt firing the digital season sets, and then upgraded the dvd sets to blu ray, even getting it back on toonami, though it's still hopelessly behind.

It's the same people, the company is just called Crunchyroll Dubs now iirc. Sony is going all in on rebranding all its anime shit not named Aniplex to Crunchyroll, and shutting down the redundant companies like rightstuff.


As an aside, the animation for egghead feels sloppy, but not in the normal no budget kind of way. Like character movements are both fluid and choppy at the same time. Feels weird.

After watching the latest episode when it came out, I have been wondering wether the gum gum fruiit actually being the sun god Nika fruit actually makes sense. If devil fruits are meeant to be the different possibilities of Human evolution, then why is there at least no similar devil fruit that actually does grant rubber powers? there has to be rubber type fruit somewhere.

One might argue the Funi name had gotten quite tainted of late, wonder why. Much like all bad companies, they just merge or rebrand... almost like someone running away and hiding.

From what the Gorosei talked about, the Gum Gum Fruit IS the Nika Fruit (with Gear 5 being an “awakened state”). The thing is that it’s implied the Gum Gum Fruit is the name it was given to hide its true nature and what it represents symbolically, and very few people know about that true nature

and apparently there can be duplicates, with the only issues being how they’re applied.

For all we know there might be. Nika Fruit was named Gum Gum to hide it after all.

Assuming the Nika Fruit isn’t Imu’s I’m betting on him having the actual rubber Fruit

Funny you mention that, because I’m starting to feel that Blackbeard is probably going to be the closest to fit the mold of “Luffy, but….evil”.

The literal Devil Fruit.
