I feel like a Knuckles expansion would probably make more sense given that both of them have far more history than Sonic and Shadow. They could even introduce Classic Knuckles. I'm just hoping this expansion leads to something more substantial like extra levels and not something lame like a few bonus side missions, but I'm not holding my breath.
Sonic Generations & Knuckles does have a nice ring to it.

Knuckles would be the perfect "Hard Mode" and would require more exploration than the typical "GOTTA GO FAST!!!!!" approach of Sonic since Knuckles has more tools at his disposal and is slower than Sonic. It's basically how I've always played him, even in Mania I took my sweet-ass time with him. Idk how they did him in Superstars though since i haven't played it.

Sonic X Shadow Generations is real
They acknowledge black doom and the black arms which is pretty cool but i'll hold off any hype until the game is actually out and of course waiting for them to inevitably delist the original and charge $70
This is Forces all over again... they just stuck Shadow in a main game and called it a day.

The whole point of Generations was to celebrate 20 years of Sonic dating back from the genesis era to the (at the time) present day, including classic sonic with all his classic-ness.

If they wanted to make a "history of" game for Shadow as well, then why not just make his own fucking game???

Can't wait for Sega to pull a Sonic Origins and delist the original Generations from steam.

That's what the Shadow game was for, sort of a 'Shadow Generations', except there's not much to draw from when he's only appeared in two games before that. A handful of its levels were callback levels to SA2 or Heroes.

I just watched the trailer and at the end when it showed the title and scrolled up a bit to announce the release window, I legitimately thought it said:

Sonic x Shadow
Autism

I thought that sounded about right.

Shadow The Hedgehog was essentially a back-story builder for the character, since at that point Heroes basically left his story on a cliffhanger note by pulling the "Is he a clone??? Is he the original??? Is he a good guy??/ Is he a bad guy??? NOBODY KNOWS!!!" card.

Since then, he's been religated as -yet another- side character, unless we're counting Sonic 06, which Sega likes to cherry pick regarding what is and isn't cannon with that game. But even then, he's had more action on Boom and Prime than anything else.

I mean it's kinda obvious his inclusion in this """update""" to Generations is because they are trying to hype everyone up for the next sonic movie, right? (even though they did nothing game related for Knuckles, which I'm pretty salty about).

So, Shadow is pretty much the Uncle Ruckus of the series, right?
I wonder what the new cope will be now.

What's the consensus on denuvo with regards to modding games, does it make it more difficult? Assuming it's just a remaster with extra content tacked on, I can't imagine it can do too much to halt modding Generations on PC, given the tools are fairly mature now.

Well looks like it is indeed a generations remaster. Wonder what will be the new Catch 22 with this remaster other than the new Shadow content side mode. Since, we all Know there will also probably also be some digital deluxe nonsense too. Or on the Flipside, More glitches will be induced from the porting process. Either way so far it doesn't look to bad so far almost just looking like a 1:1 port on the generations side.

Interestingly, they only showed what looks like two levels from each campaign (Green Hill and City Escape from base Generations, Final Chase and Radical Highway from Shadow's). Not sure if that means anything, but hopefully Shadow's story being described as "parallel" to Sonic's means there's more or less an equal amount of content.

Doubt it would happen but would be nice if they gave stages for Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic CD and Triple Trouble. 6 levels based on classic Sonic games, 6 for modern Sonic and then 3 for Shadow. Just hope it is a meaty update as for as much as I like Sonic Generations, game is very short.
