The early yellowing is only caused by the chemical that they put into plastic to prevent that either not being added or not enough. Haven't had that issue in recent years but during the Trump era fucking over China I had it pretty often (I think everything is now being made in Vietnam). Only good thing about it was that it forced me to custom paint all my figures that had yellow and white/ cream white plastic and not let them get any UV damage. GW should do that with their miniatures so my pile of shame wouldn't be so high.

I think it's more than just a chemical to prevent yellowing not being added. I've noticed a good number of figures the last few years seem to just absorb hand/air grease and become this weird mottled semi-gloss I can't really explain the texture of in the right conditions. My normal kingdom galvatron kinda has this issue and it's like got it's own weird thing of there being like 2 to 4 slightly different shades of purple plastic used for some reason which makes me always think it's one of the yellowing batches when it's not. I think it might be some mold release or some shit working it's way into the plastic and messing up it's color with some of these, kind of reminds me of the weird shit with the chalky whitening with the plastic of some of the Masters of the universe classics figures that was an issue for a while over 10 years ago now.

Yeah, that's because chemicals need to be added to the figure so the plastic wont do that. There's also an issue with two batches of plastic being added to single vat and being mixed that can get that disgusting swirl in the plastic. Larger figures like the Titans can sometimes be found still with flash in them or some deluxe's now being found with flash inside mushroom pegs. Quality plastic is a thing of the past so it's best to protect it the best you can. At least when it comes to Western figures. I have yet to have issues with any of the rare Korean stuff I pick up. That stuff is sold as a brick.

Starscream has returned bearing goods.

I went to Texas for family and I snagged some 2-packs of Elita and Tarantulas along with Ironhide and someone else (can't check atm) I wouldn't have gotten them at the previous prices though. I also got a 3rd party Armada Starscream that I adore. I plan to get more 3rd party figures too, G1's Christine AKA Elita will be first. Still can't get a good offer on a 3rd party Mentis I've been coveting.

I hate the Reactivate designs. And I like being a vulture when the price is right.

I'm so fucking tired of plastic free packaging though. A few of the single packs were decapitated, the heads were stolen. I kid you not.

Here's to a better year in product, but if anything, look to 3rd party.

Bumblebee has been nice, not a fan of Soundwave due to the legs but he's made for a good Crankcase. Picked up a second Bumblebee loose for a Ruckus repaint.

I made the mistake of going for a gimmick toy again and bought the optimus prime that combines with the white lion from the beast aliance line.
it's not a bad toy, but man, the prime is just a standard prime with the combiner force gimmick of the cyberverse toyline.
i don't get a lot of good stuff here and need to order a lot online, but something about it screamed that it was a leo convoy homage to me.
at least it was on clearence.

I've been reading the MTMTE comics that went from 2012 to 2016 and I'm liking them so far. I just wanted to know what you guys thought of them.

IDW's comics were fine until they thought putting their own politics into them would help them to sell, instead they continue to go deeper into the red with every passing year and have to borrow money from the main company.

Only read bits and pieces. Some characters were kinda fun or interesting but I view Lost Light and anything past 2015 as purely spank material. Which would be fine if IDW was honest with themselves. At that point they were just used as dolls/playthings by idiot "writers".

I didn't mind the Lost Light bit when they're looking for the Knights of Cybertron and the whole thing with Megatron turning away from the Decepticon cause, it's sort of been done before or have made him "good" by working along side Optimus Prime, but it wasn't written well. At the very least Megatron could have been arrested for crime still and made to face time but do it virtually, living for millions of years in his mind then to be awoken so the crew could have him by his side. This could also show a different side/ character to Megatron. The writers also completely failed at the whole Knights thing and became obvious that the only idea they had was the name. They didn't story board anything else.

I'm thinking of ordering one of those yolopark things sometime soon, specifically the g1 megatron because it's just straight up a non-transforming actually affordable semi-adaptation of the MP, with the head lighting gimmick of the MP 3rd party kit I got one of for non-mp custom I never finished, and with paint detail similar to a custom of the siege one I bought off a guy a few years back. Also might get the miniature version and try to repaint it into like an action master megatron or something at some point.

The Yolopark stuff have been good so far. I'm looking forward to Starscream and the eventual repaints. Bumblebee though looks a bit meh. I would have rather have had Prowl and then release his repaints/ remolds along with the Seekers. Their Rise of the Beasts Rhinox, Scourge, and Cheetor also look good too. They also have a Bumblebee Movie Soundwave with Ravage coming out too. I may pick up the Age of Extinction Optimus Prime for a custom. May look good as one of the 13 Primes.
Energon Universe is a very great reboot of the Transformers and the retards from Twitter better not ruin it.
They sure like squishing humans.

Gears has been shown off. Looks good in bot mod, alt mod is fine until you look at it from the wheel wells down. It's a little off but if you think of it as the wheels being raised it's fine. There's one idiot over on TFW2005 real angry about the size. He doesn't seem to understand what they did with the Minibots back in the day with their design such making them penny racer like. I also don't think he knows about Powerglide or Warpath.

Legacy Evolution Armada Universe Optimus Prime is currently on sale for what it should be after currency conversion so I picked up another one for some repainting. It's a $33.20 savings. That can go towards the fillers. Going for the Magna Convoy DX colour scheme over the Powerlinks colours. I wish we had a Overload to go with it but maybe later. The only real changes is blues on Optimus Prime, Magna is a little brighter, and there's some off white on the legs and grill on Magna. The reds are also a little darker. In combined mode there's some black on the legs and some off white. Pretty sure there's a 3d printed Sparkpug to go with it.

It's been out of stock everywhere and scalped for 180-200 for me online wherever I look the last 5 months. Where the hell are you finding it for cheap?

amazon.ca. Usually they're $150 plus taxes (another 13%) when I managed to find one at Toys R'Us and another one at Walmart for my son. Bigbadtoystore also has a sale on them too for American folk as did Hasbro Pulse but they're sold out now.

I never saw that anywhere, but I also don't live in canada. in the US it's supposed to be $89.99 msrp but it's been sold out everyhwere save for "third party sellers" that want it for $150 USD or higher.

I notice scalpers are starting to move in on action masters now around the time I feel like getting some to recast the heads for some custom figures I had ideas of making. Only listings are filthy ones for either a slight or extreme markup compared to only a few months ago. The optimus prime figure by itself is being charged for the same amount used as the listings for it with the actual vehicle it comes with, fucking stupid.

It's not come in the mail yet, but I got a used Buluke/BLOKS megatron kit a few days ago. Figured paying like 15-ish dollars plus shipping for one of those instead of trying to find the one non-china place that sells the blind boxes or paying $80 plus shipping for a full box of the blind boxes. if I like it and find another guy selling his opened ones he didn't want for cheap enough later I might get more, but the g1 Megatron one is the one that stood out to me the most due tothe fact whoever designed that one captured his personality in the expression and sculpt pretty well. Regional exclusives are still very much a thing it seems, but it's relegated to fun spinoff lines which only Japan and China get.

$89.99USD would currently be $120.91CAD plus whatever extra the store wants to tack on for an extra fee. Usually $20-35 at that price point. Then an added 13% for taxes on top of that. Buying anything in the country is bullshit and while the new USA/ Mexico/ Canada trade deal was supposed to help with that, only America benefited from it because the woman Trudeau sent to negotiate during it completely and utterly failed. Somehow she was too intimated by Orange Man Bad to do her job. So now we still have to pay more for every import and Canada can't make USA pay extra for Canada's exports.

So the figure that will be with the Bludgeon two pack is Ruckus. I wonder who they're repainting as him. Not too happy with that as I've started working on my custom but I can at least take the head and maybe the weapon/s. I already turned some of the "minibots" released already into their GoBot colours so I don't really need the new three pack but I can get it for my son and see if there's anything there that can be used for my own customs like the heads.
