the anime adaptation of the first game is absolutely terrible, although I guess that's what happens when you try to condense a 40 hour visual novel into a 4 hour Anime series.
It really would have benefited from being a 26 episode anime instead of 12.

This week's Jojo was pretty crazy. Although one thing that always bothered me.

When did Kira get a chance to learn of the other Stand users? When did he get a chance to learn what Aya does?

I think of it as it was just a guess on his part that she was a Stand user. He was probably just going to her place to see if he could have his face made up to slip away and was like "oh shit, you can see Killer Queen, cool, change my face." Kira's lives in Morioh presumably for his entire life so he's probably heard about her store.

Or just a case of Araki's inconsistent writing. Part 3's beginning made sure to note that if you couldn't breathe it'd weaken your Stand, then Jotaro fought that one Stand underwater with no diving gear and fucking destroyed it no issue.

Lerche clearly had no idea what they were doing.

Lerche shouldn't be allowed to make adaptations. Gakkou Gurashi was an abomination.

He actually mentions the store beforehand when he first encounters Koichi, and mentions Yukako too. The implication is that he's been tailing Josuke and friends.

That's true. Kind of sad it's only 3-5 minutes per episode.

Isn't that like, all their output thus far?
They've actually made quite a few prolific anime in the last few years. The quality of their animation is normally quite good (barring Persona 4 which was stretched out to 25 episodes on a shoestring budget), but the quality of their adaptations can be hit and miss.
Danganronpa and Persona 4 are famously bad adaptations, and they also managed to somehow fuck up Gakkou Gurashi beyond comprehension. However somehow Humanity Has Declined managed to be a really amazing show. I'm not interested in Monster Musume or Assassination Classroom but I've heard mostly good things about them.

Actually, Persona 4 and Humanity Has Declined were both AIC, Not Lerche. The latter merely did some animation/paint/episode subcontracting.

I can see where you're coming from with Gakkou Gurashi though. Doesn't help it was only 13 episodes.

Oh I see I was mistaken, fair enough.
I will never not be mad about my Gakkous god damn it.

That is a catch. I just sorta like the idea of focusing on the older guys for once. I often think it would be interesting to tell a story of one such trainer who's practically getting on in age and wants to hang it up for good. I'm sure there's been fanfics of that scenario.

If I had to guess I'd say they're either trying to synergize with Pokémon Go or push back against Yo-Kai Watch.
I'm certain that's the case. I just started getting into Pokemon Go and am already at Level 7 but still grinding my way through without batting other guys yet.

About the only thing I know Lerche for is Carnival Phantasm, which is hilarious if you like Type-Moon memes on copious amounts of drugs.

Looks like the Pokemon anime went to a new animation studio too. It's...different.
