All discussion of the candidates, updates and results should go here

For example- here's a video of Ted Cruz vying for world domination.

Also Hilary Clinton is a crook and nobody should have sex with her.

Discuss

(Note- The title will change as we get nearer the election, previous titles will be archived in the OP)

CNN fact check: yes blackberries and iPads that might have had emails on them were destroyed with hammers after her private email server became public news and the server itself was wiped (like with a cloth?)

The look on the host's face when the 'fact check' came back as true is priceless.

I'm honestly getting sick over this same email scandal over Benghazi being literally the only thing the news keeps running on Clinton. I get the severity of the situation but as far as I understand it, this was four years ago and she was still Secretary of State at the time. Was it a screw up in any sense because the private server got compromised or something? Of course - but from what I can find on Snowden was he was already in talks with journalists over revealing a shitload of confidential material literally three months later that same year, ultimately the first material getting out in May of 2013 with one of the primary scandals being PRISM; the government surveillance program that let the government secretly observe thousands of communications between American citizens over email and phone records.

What the emails from Clinton's server ended up causing up to now was a security issue, but moreover it really is more indicative of a problem with internal government security as a whole if they can spy on countless American citizens without disclosing that action, yet they can't make sure somebody else could possibly do the same to anything involving electronic communication tied to the Secretary of State, private server or no.

Meanwhile, Trump's been exposed as a fraud (didn't write the majority of his own book), a thief (Trump University), a bigot (everything he says about minorities that isn't intended to be praise), a poor businessman (bankruptcy filings how many times?), and is causing alienation in his own party. Hillary certainly isn't anything resembling a perfect candidate, but at least she has experience as a politician as well as a far better First Spouse in the form of ex-pres Bill. Trump in comparison still doesn't get how to not alienate minorities and Mrs. Trump is pretty much a textbook trophy wife.

The difference is the US government tried to extradite Snowden to press criminal charges.

The FBI just released redacted documents of their interviews with Hillary Clinton, and her defense in them was "I don't remember" due to a concussion, as well as these revelations on how she physically destroyed evidence before the FBI could investigate her.

It's not just about her private email server, it's the lengths she went to cover it up and her absolutely abysmal responses when interviewed by the FBI. She claimed she didn't know that the C marker in emails meant Classified. She thought it was for 'sorting emails alphabetically' whatever that means.

Do you REALLY think the Secretary of State didn't know that C is for classified? Do you really want a politician sending emails about top secret information if she doesn't know the basic identifiers for classified material? Or do you want someone who will lie about it when under investigation?

Did you just basically say Hillary made mistakes but those are in the past now. But Trumps past mistakes, now those aren't allowed in the past? Why's that?

I don't like Trump, either, or his wrongful actions, but come on - Hillary's lying and playing dumb with confidential data/information lead to people dying - it could have lead to more people dying in an even worse scenario. This is something that needs to remain fresh on everyone's minds and continue to be brought up as a serious issue, concerning all Americans, regardless of side. Lying under oath hurts in a position of governmental power can and does hurt more people (as in, EVERYONE.) than someone "being a bigot". Even as a proud liberal, I can't trust Hillary, knowing that lying under oath like that could have hurt a lot more people in the grand scheme of things.

Even if I enjoy dissing Trump, let's not ever leave Hillary out from some of that dissin'.

Honestly, politicians being stupid with technology is almost par for the course these days. Not saying you're incorrect in your assessment on Clinton, but at this point I have little reason to believe Trump would be any better handling confidential material.

Did you just basically say Hillary made mistakes but those are in the past now. But Trumps past mistakes, now those aren't allowed in the past? Why's that?

If Clinton made other mistakes, then why aren't they bringing those up? It has been just this one email scandal non-stop and for all that it seems to be Watergate all over again, I still trust the Dems over the Republicans who are in semi-revolt over what to do with Trump.

I wasn't saying Hillary isn't a crook in her own right, but everything is about this one email thing non-stop. I want to hear about these other things that makes Hilary a bad choice that isn't merely on par with Bill lying about sex under oath.

If Clinton made other mistakes, then why aren't they bringing those up?

because it's borderline criminal and would put most people in jail. The FBI just released the documents of their investigation the other day. That's why it's back in the news, and it's even more damning now that we know more facts.

If you're tired of hearing about Hillary's emails, listen to her getting a man off on a technicality who was accused of raping a 12 year old girl, as well as MSNBC and others cutting feeds to normal people speaking their opinion but against someone's narrative.

Hillary Clinton said that the man accused of raping the 12 year old girl passed a polygraph test, which destroyed her trust in polygraph tests. She trusted this man to have raped a 12 year old girl more than she trusted that piece of technology, got him off on a technicality, and accused a 12 year old girl of seeking out the company of older men.

I particularly like the fact checking at the end of this video. People can now immediately find videos of what CNN denies was ever corroborated on their show and see that their "journalists" are blatantly denying the facts that their same network covered years ago.

The age of the cable news network is dying.

Also enjoy a video, that's difficult to hear, but cuts out very quickly after agitated people near the cameraman remark clearly "HE'S WEARING A SHAWL" and might say "shut it down." It's hard to hear, but someone is very clearly upset about the shawl right before the feed is cut.

"I'm shooting this, I don't care what..." "I'll take a demotion"

And then it cuts out.

Broadcasting technology isn't THAT primitive anymore, is it? With mobile networks more widespread than ever, this election seems to have a lot of camera and microphone feeds lost at very convenient times.

CNN is being called the Clinton News Network for a fucking reason.

They're are disgustingly blatant about their shilling for Hillary, not even a single shred of bad news on Clinton is allowed to be shown and most major media outlets are exactly the same.

I hate Trump but the out and out bias for Hillary disgust me.

So much for the 3rd Estate

Ah, this is the kind of thing I needed to see, thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

So basically CNN is now the Fox/Faux News of the Democrats? I watched The Running Man last night (oh god the one liner puns) and it was scary how a dystopian 2017's media system closely resembles that of 2016 today in terms of yellow journalism lies to hide facts.

Oh I can't wait to see CNN do a CGI cage match between Trump and Clinton and then have Trump Impaled on a spike to cover up her loss.

I've been keeping a close eye on 538 and since Manafort left Trump's been slowly but steadily coming back. At his lowest he had something like an 11% chance of being elected, now he's just shy of 30%
I would want him elected for no other reason than to see how he handles the top secret stuff they tell the new presidents. If there really are aliens or whatever, what are the chances he'd blab about it on twitter? Apparently I'm not the only one thinking this:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/05/05/spies-worry-candidate-trump-will-spill-secrets.html
http://www.atlasobscura.com/article...didates-get-top-secret-intelligence-briefings
Apparently as the nominee he was given a lite briefing already, I guess he hasn't blabbed yet but I wonder if that explains his erratic behavior basically torpedoing his own campaign after the convention...
