So I don't know if this has been touched on in the thread there's a popular art trend on Tumblr where they'll take a screenshot from a show and usually redraw it to both pay homage to the show while also trying to reinterpret its art style and compare it with their own. Sometimes, this is good.

Brock looks like a badly drawn Speedwagon.

So I'm no expert in anatomy or anything, but I'm fairly certain that one's nose isn't supposed to melt into some sort of primordial sludge. Also, forgive me if this has been brought up already, but what is with Tumblr and having a character's eyes squash and stretch like they were made of playdough? It hardly, if ever, works out and just usually makes the piece more off-putting than anything else.

The literal only explanation I can find for that is that some time ago, the artist behind Lackadaisy (who is popular on Tumblr as well as dA) posted an art tutorial for expressions that mentioned squashing/stretching in terms of making the expression more animated/exaggerated.

While this is good in theory and the artist behind Lackadaisy is damn good at what they do because they actually have a grasp of fundamentals; Tumblr...well, they're lazy and skip the fundamentals, and as such they take good advice and make a mess out of it.

...alternatively, :autism:

So the run of the mill Tumblr laziness? Also I'd like to put this here for the thread

First I was offended over the ugly art styles, but now I'm offended over how they all look the fucking same. Unless you're posting the same artist.

Nope. Pretty much all different artists (or autists if you wish to be more accurate) their 'styles' just bleed together because they may as well be the exact same, just some deform their faces a bit more than others.

vanilla ice from jjba?

While the comic DeadEndia is nice, but God, is the art and aspects reek of Tumblr. See which ones you can find.

NOTE: Not shown is the fact that the blue-haired one is a transgender man who hasn't gotten the boobs removed yet.
the transman is that steven universe looking blob with the undercut?

Y'know if they would just tone down the Tumblr nose the art would be pretty kick-ass. Can't say much in terms of writing, so I'll binge it later if anything.

Wait is that someone from JoJo? I could never figure out where to start with that series, and I'm usually intimidated by a long-running franchise like JoJo mostly because of how much content there is to go through.

The anime is pretty good and broken up into series so you can start wherever you want. Right now there are 4 series, the 3rd one being broken up into two seasons. I recommend Stardust Crusaders and Diamond is Unbreakable.

Smoothie's design is the only one I really like since she actually looks like a person. Also, the pug and the monsters are nicely done. And the cast looks very SJW approved. You got most of the things they put in their educational comics.

I'm suprised nobody posted it yet:

Found that account today, I can't believe it has 50k followers. Sorry, I can't. For me all drawings are disgusting, ugly and vulgar and very not pleasing to look at.
Can't have ugly feminism art without an ugly caricature of Sailor Moon.

Didn't notice how bad autocorrect fucked up my post.

I did a post on that:
OK, I hope this won't be too much of cartoon sperging.
Sailor Moon characters as edgy punk bitches is one of fanart trends that irritate me the most. Maybe because terrible ugly art with unknown characters is always better that terrible ugly art with characters you like.
How Sailors behave in orginal series and message the series gives to viewers is exact opposite of being punk feminazis. There is only one moment when topic of feminism is talked about, in episode 13 (of 200 ep series). Male villian started to insult girls and they said "only old man this days thik girls are a lot weaker than boys". That's all.
Girls are happy when Tuxedo Kamen is helping them and treat him with respect. Same for other, secondary male characters like Artemis, Motoki, Umino or Rei's grandfather. Sometimes they are irritated by their antics, but they are also sometimes irritated by female characters (Mars and Moon argue quite often). In most of episodes they are helping "victims of the week" with their bigger or smaller problems regardless of if they are male or female. Main gang (Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus) have often crushes on boys and if boy is not interested in them, they accept it.
As the series progress, positive characters fight less and less, instead try to resolve conflict the most peacful way possible, and in final episode the fact Sailor Moon refuse to fight saves the galaxy.

"I don't want soldier pride if this mean hurting others" and "fighting won't solve anything" lines sound like exact opposite of SJW ideology and behaviours.
But somehow they continue to make Sailor Moon punk bitches fanarts and some try to make show their Supah Feministic Icon.
Like I wrote before, I blame the fact that Sailor Moon was one of very firsts "girl team" action show and the first one to become popular. Never seen similar fanarts from Winx Club, Totally Spies, W.i.t.c.h. or Glitter Force/Precure. So people don't care about it's bigger message, but that there are OMG GIRLS FIGHTING GIRLS POWAH. The same goes to "Sailor Moon is pink and sparkles" stereotype (often linked to subversive kawaii abominations), even thought show use glitter effects and sparkles not really that often and in moderate way. And they are usually not pink. Use of LGBT themes in Sailor Moon are also exaggerate by fans, they are suggested in tasteful and subtle way and in my opinion relationship between Uranus and Neptune as "partners in crime" and their role as anti-heroes is more important than fact if they are couple or not (they are). Also crossdresser, gay or lesbian characters are really common in anime genre, I would risk ing that most of series from Japan have subplot with them and they are presented in way less subtle way that in Sailor Moon.
tl;dr Popularity sucks and make more damage that good to the show.
