misandry isn't real"UGH why do people always think feminists are a bunch of manhaters!? People are just looking for ways to disguise their sexism!!"
looks like an aardman interpretation of family guy.
Why...
These people have no sense of irony...Hey that photoset's pretty accurate, considering how garish and ugly both those anglerfish and Tumblr Feminists™ are.
I do rather miss the days when Cartoon Network hadn't become Tumblr Network, and the shows there had a real sense of style...
But I don't really think the designs these days are that ugly, just too samey.
And hopefully she'll get kicked out of said artists alley (or at least told to put those prints away) for trying to make a profit off hate speech. That's generally against the rules of most AAs.
Eh, I think every decade has its periods where everyone looks samey.
Like, going back to the Max Fleischer-Walt Disney-Ub Iwerks days when they all looked somewhat homogenous, and the average joe probably couldn't tell a Bosko cartoon from a Silly Symphony from a pre-Looney Tunes Merrie Melody. Hannah-Barbera style was popular in the 60's-70's and even non-HB cartoons kind of had a similar feel, Just look at Filmation's output: if it wasn't for Filmation's trademark super limited animation, something like Groovie Ghoulies could easily be confused for a H-B cartoon.
Then 80's action cartoons all had similar looking characters after a while. The 90's was everyone aping Nicktoons, Warner Bros Animation (particularly shows like Tiny Toons and Road Rovers: furry art back in the 90's was all about the WB aesthetic up until the anime boom), the Disney Renaissance (especially when it came to theatrical movies), or Batman TAS. The 00's was all about anime, and Pixar/Dreamworks in the realm of CGI movies.
Not that I'm trying to excuse the glut of bean-y noodle limbed characters of today, but this sort of thing in animation is not a recent development at all.
I don't know, I think it's easy to tell the difference between Regular Show and Steven Universe, for example. There are still some samefacey stuff in the main characters, but the artstyle of various shows (like The Amazing World of Gumball and Adventure Time) are still a bit distinct. What I think makes the CN case especially galling is that it is a network that has long promoted a creator-driven ethic - where every show can be its own thing.
Look at the CN of 15 years ago; Dexter's Lab looked nothing like Cow and Chicken and Ed, Edd n Eddy looked nothing like Courage the Cowardly Dog. Anyone could tell they were different shows. But now, practically everything on CN looks samey - an untrained viewer couldn't tell the difference between any of them.
TAWoG does use a variety of animations and even puppets for its show.I don't know, I think it's easy to tell the difference between Regular Show and Steven Universe, for example. Ah, those screencap redraws. It's a great exercise for artist in theory, but most of the time, the results are absolute crap. Doubly so if it's for an anime.
Here's an example. Don't know the show, but...

The artist does this thing with all their noses. It's really nauseating.
Goddamn that person does not know shit about lighting. I thought the bottom pic was just a WIP of the first.
Speaking of noses. I want to like this artist, because they're one of the few who draws Bioshock art anymore, but they have the awful ambiguous browning and blotchy reds Tumblr coloring style, and EVERYONE, and I do mean EVERYONE; has these awful enormous and typically bulbous noses. And not just for Bioshock; it's in all their art. In this case, literally everyone looks like they're an alcoholic. At least in Booker's case, it's canonical.

So I'm no expert in anatomy or anything, but I'm fairly certain that one's nose isn't supposed to melt into some sort of primordial sludge. Also, forgive me if this has been brought up already, but what is with Tumblr and having a character's eyes squash and stretch like they were made of playdough? It hardly, if ever, works out and just usually makes the piece more off-putting than anything else.Ah, those screencap redraws.
