Do we really need a new reboot?

So the new trilogy is canon in this, and Zip from the legend trilogy was also casted. Re-rebooting into TR1? Or a half-frankenstein timeline for new games? Wow. How exciting.

Most people working in the industry do not understand the idea of what animation for adults, so they just drop extensive swear words and use endless blood and gore to make sure to everyone that it is, indeed, for "adults," when they're realistically for children. This is the same type of shit we've seen in any other jaded adult animated project, and this also applies to animated sitcoms such as the likes of Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, American Dad, among others.

I'm gonna go off record and simply say that being a Tomb Raider fan (or any fan of a certain video game) is unsurprisingly embarrassing. From someone such as myself who loved the series starting in the 2000s, only to finally see said beloved series to be violently stomped on the ground and insult the very idea of what made the series tick in the first place.

So far, this makes the godawful 2018 movie look like Citizen Kane.

Honestly, it's time for me to move on. I'm done with Tomb Raider in general. I refused to come back to this franchise anytime soon.
 
Double posting here to make my one final note on this thread, if anyone wants to continue on with this thread, please do so. I no longer want to continue to enjoy the series anymore. Tomb Raider is dead to me.

I'm just gunna buy the remastered trilogy to show that classic Lara still has appeal. For fuck sake, if she can appeal to a literal faggot like me there must be something other than her appearance that makes her likeable?

Gotta love that they casted Zip as well. Nothing says badass female like constantly being given unwarranted advice and concern from a man who's safe back at base.

Remind me how reboot Lara is a better feminist than the original? The one who told her rich STILL ALIVE parents to fuck off with their aristocracy and arranged marriage, who blazed her own trail and was sought out by billionaires to recover artefacts, with a gigantic mansion which she didn't inherit but instead earned from her passion?

The thing thet got wrong with Legend and Reboot Lara is that she's objectively a bad person, but the games prop her up as some martyr or conflicted person that's really good guys trust us.

Original Lara intruded upon sacred lands and stole priceless artefacts, killed numerous endangered animals and nearly destroyed the whole world due to her selfishness and hubris in TLR. All while wearing a teal tank top, sunglasses and making snarky remarks and generally being a bitch. THAT'S why I love her. For God's sake she literally shoots an innocent helicopter pilot to death in TR3 just to escape faster from an explosion SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR. AOD had her getting her comeuppance and it was brilliant for that, it just sucks that the game was unfinished.

Anyway I'll buy the remastered trilogy and play TRLE levels and just ignore everything else.
 
They're remastering the original trilogy? Will it have modern gameplay tweaks as a remake or just an upscaled resolution?

Its basically the original game but with better resolution, better graphics and character models, and maybe some other little tweaks. You can also play the original versions as they are included with the collection. See for yourself:

No, I was busy & forgot about it later. I will say tho, he was mainly using his own corporate AI as a basis to create a specific Lara-based voice model referenced from 2013 game & onwards of sorts so he can't really put the software out. The post was about DM'ing him anything you wanted Lara to say, also, she can't moan or anything in it.

It's highly possible he might have been found out by his company & purged it all.

She doesn't have tits and kills a lot of guys so she's automatically better.

I never understood why they needed to make the reboot series so ludicrously violent. Like the originals had their horror themes and brutal deaths but something about the new games felt like they were made by some gore hound lunatics.

That's because Squeenix commissioned Crystal to do a different game back in 2011, but then Squeenix thought it was so perfect to make it a Tomb Raider brand and be a reboot, just being more like Hannibal, Saw and Battle Royale with its horror and brutal themes bit with more of Uncharted and Hunger Games sprinkled it and call it a day.
