The most upset person about all of this much be hambone. Not only did he have to eat crow and admit 100% of the blame for fucking up both mercedes' race but he doesn't get to play victim about how much he suffered in the heat because he was out by turn 1.

Sergeant being helped away from the car

All three were assessed at the medical center as suffering heatstroke and requiring treatment.

I think we found (and passed) the limit for heat now. It could have been so so much worse and actually good on sergeant for holding his hand up and saying he can't carry on rather than trying to push through it and possibly causing/having a huge incident.
Stroll looking like he's drunk.

Legit surprised we got no accidents caused by the heat after seeing this.

And with that, Albon just lost his SEA card and is now officially declared a white man. SEA people aren't allowed to suffer heat anything less than 40C and 90% humidity.

But to be serious, this is some really fucked up. As you said, no running in the rain, but a tyre exploding track is ok.

No naughty gamer words, but desert shitholes with slave tier labor is ok.

It's kinda weird you have the fastest cars ever but they have to reigned in by fragile rubber.

Seeing Middle Eastern oil money eat away at every form of professional sports recently has been awful. Doesn’t seem to have any chance of slowing down and has even reached the US and completely dicked down the former top dog in golf that is the PGA. Would have smoking sponsorships any day of the year over this recent shift as well as instead of gambling ads. It’s a cruel irony that F1 makes all this noise about being carbon neutral, while having sponsors built on one of the largest sources of pollution. Hopefully F1 can shift away, but I think the opposite will happen.

I really feel bad for Sergeant :(

The boy is in a corner; not really cut out for F1, but feeling that he needs to do everything to prove he is worthy of a seat. Yesterday that entailed staying out on the circuit longer than was wise, to a point where he was a danger to himself, and potentially to others. You could hear how fucked up he sounded on the radio.

I've had heatstroke and I remember vividly my legs suddenly going out from under me. Williams should have been more proactive in retiring the car, rather than sitting on the fence and telling him 'it's your call'.

Aston Martin has officially revived the Valkyrie Le Mans Hypercar program, there's been a lot of speculation that's where Daddy Stroll will banish his useless spawn to in 2025 (which would be very much to the detriment of the WEC lineup lol). Also really fucking random but Gabe Newell's Heart of Racing team will be running the cars as the factory team.

(In case you can't see, McLaren broke the Pit Stop world record with Lando Norris)

McLaren's turnaround this year has been incredible.

For me, the most notable thing about the Mercs crashing is that the team, who were so dominant for so many years, managed this so fucking poorly. The only reason to stick Lewis on the softs is for him to get ahead of Max on the opening lap. Yes, Sir Lewis Midfieldmonton did the big fuck up but there shouldn't have been anything for him to fuck up, you plan for this beforehand with both drivers. Russell would've been better off just waving him past and letting him hold up Max too. We saw how powerful the softs were in the sprint, but also how shit they'd be later, so it's not like Lewis was a threat.

It really looks like Merc is just 2 teams in one now, where both halves make these decisions without even talking to one another.

I mean that's precisely what would have happened if Hambone had gone a bit wider around the corner. He would have been past Russell and up the inside of Max into turn 2 with gripper tyres. Though they would have melted like a lap later and dumped him back down the order, where he probably would have held Russell up in a fit of not letting him past to chase Max.

Lewlew fans are still coping despite hambone admitting fault about how Russell should have had better situational awareness but what about their washed favourite, shouldn't he have had the awareness not to sandwich Russell?

I've seen a few hambone fans try to use this to argue this proves he wasn't at fault for Silverstone 2021 because Max was on the outside. Ignoring everything different between the two scenarios (and the fact ham was found 100% to blame for both by the stewards).

Yes, but a large part of managing a team is limiting the risk of fuckups, and they just didn't bother to do so. Pamilton crashing into someone trying to overtake doesn't shock me, it's not that uncommon in the rare times he's actually had to fight. The fact that mercedes are apparently too pussy to talk to their drivers about strategy is more surprising and a bigger problem for them going forward.

McLaren didn't let Lando take a punt at Oscar because for the team it would be stupid, given how many points were on the line, on a risky track. Both Lando and Oscar are perfectly capable of racing cleanly (way more so than Pewis and the Georpedo), but that's what you do when you're the one paying the bills.

Albon is no more a SEA than hamilton is a nigerian, hes a half anglo hapa and he was born and lived his entire life in London. If we have to have the neekeri we should be able to have albon too, its only fair.

I cant imagine being in Russel's position and wanting to stay in Mercedes. They're so openly hostile to any hamilton teammate who wants to challenge him and won't roll over like king cuck bottas. He should be putting out feelers for checo's seat.

Itd be nice to see Lance transitioned out of the team, hes killing Aston's WCC chances. Alonso/Checo 2024?

Probably time to pour one out for Pouchaire, he's probably won F2 and unless something magical happens he's not going to be in F1 next year like the last 2 champions.

But of course don't need any extra teams...

With all the talk of Perez being replaced, I don't see Redbull being able to get someone as talented as Lando and Ricciardo would be quite a risk that he might still not be where he once was.

The best likely replacement in my view would be to bring back Albon.
