I saw three films recently

  • Last Voyage of the Demeter - Was curious about it, and it was pretty shitty. There were some cool moments in the film, but it was a feral vampire that barely resembles Dracula. Not because he isn't some classy vampire but there were powers teased that Dracula didn't use. Not to mention the beyond idiotic decisions and shitty sequel bait with the OC black doctor.
  • Dream Home - Forgot who posted the trailer ITT but it made me want to check it out, and it was a really great movie that I would definitely want to watch again. Especially with how far it seems to go and pulls no punches with how disgusting it can get with its gore. Also find the killer's motives to be pretty interesting.
  • Talk to Me - Probably the best horror film that came out this year, it was certainly enhanced on a rewatch and it really took some unexpected twists that I did not expect especially with the current horror landscape. I also like the way how they depict the dead spirits in a way that feels a bit unique.

My screening for Saw X was absolute dogshit. I don't want to go into more detail, because I don't want to have a stupid sperg meltdown, but all you need to know is that I had two fatass female hecklers sitting in the same aisle of seats as me, and they insulted me during the screening.

Halloween: Resurrection 2

Give us the rematch between Busta Rhymes and Micheal Myers no one wants to see.

or

Halloween 7 with creepy CGI Donald Pleasence
The fact Busta Rhyme didn't threaten to break michaels neck, then we have an MCU fight scene scored to his hit song, break ya neck, is a failure of cinema.

It's sad that the filmmakers didn't even thought of this, so instead they use an anticlimactic scene where Busta's comeback line to Myers is, "Trick or treat muthafucka," making this the most embarrassing piece of injustice in cinematic history *sigh*

I saw it yesterday. Thought it was fucking terrible.

It's too long, All the traps are dull. And the cutaway in the post credits scene was cringe.

I don't consider Jigsaw and Spiral canon, and X imo is the worst film of the series.

Did the hecklers tell you to stop talking about Seth Macfarlane shows?

Never occurred to me. I honest to god can't really tell their taste in movie or TV.

Despite the terrible theatre experience, I thought it was okay. Maybe because I still have a sour taste of Spiral in my mouth, it's still a godsend in comparison. I'd say it's better than IV and especially better than Spiral, but still not good.

It's all good. Despite my shitty experience, I thought the movie was ok. I'm planning on watching more horror movies this month, and I'm gonna kick off by watching some low-budget indie horrors on Tubi

Sounds good, I've not given Tubi a look before. Is it worth the trouble digging through their catalogue?

I'm not gonna be able to do my usual Horror movie a night October tradition because of obligations but I'm gonna try and do this Kiyoshi Kurosawa film order I saw a while back on /tv/ it's all I'll have time for unfortunately, pic related.

My one October horror quota goal is to re-watch all of the Masters Of Horror Anthology again. I watched it when I was younger and remembered liking it. Now I'm curious if it is the case of the "Are You Afraid of the Dark" is so good problem; not as good as I remember.

I watched Masters of Horror last year (after having seen only a few of them in their original release because TV and/or my work were utterly spastic at the time). I got bored with almost every episode. I remember thinking several times that there was SOOO much filler in a one hour tv show. I remember thinking not a single episode was objectively good, but they were still watchable either from their goofiness (Tobe Hooper, Takashi Miike) or their pure distillation of what the director was (Landis, Joe Dante (the rawr, BOOOSH BAAAD episode was a telling precursor to TDS, and I remember thinking it was a tired trope even when it came out), Stuart Gordon). They're shitty, but at least they're shitty in a way that's much, much less annoying than circa last 5 years horror.

Breh, there's only one Masters of Horror:

This is circa 2002 so there's a lot of interviews with the legends.

I liked Incident On and Off a Mountain Road. The Black Cat is a good chance to get an idea of what Jeffrey Combs as Edgar Allen Poe in his one man stage show is like, since he plays Edgar Allen Poe in that one. Well, Deer Woman made an impression too, but I suspect that was due to the absurd concept and the pretty topless lady in it. Jenifer was strange. Well, I won't go through all the episodes here. I think it's worth rewatching. I think I'll rewatch the three seasons of Chris Carter's Millenium.

I've seen this docu several times and I just noticed for the first time at 1:02 that the editor for this snuck in a blink and you miss it shot of the priest from Fulci's City of the Living Dead. Undoubtedly, if Fulci had lived a few more years he would have been interviewed for this.
