Honestly reminds me of the first deal office job I ever had. My desk was right outside my boss’s office, so I would often hear his phone calls. He has this way of being super friendly and casual towards someone, asking personal questions and establishing trust, then he’d flip the switch and be this menacing terror who can’t be appeased to ensure he got what he wanted. The man was downright terrifying but it taught me a lot about how manipulation works and I definitely see a lot of similar tactics attempted by Nick, just less competently pulled off.
