Now, about these Fishtank archives.
nuMDE have truly outdone old MDE in the department of disappointing fans. Although Sam allegedly dumped hundreds of thousands of dollars on Fishtank, the "project" has turned out to be more of an afterthought, with /r9k/ tripfag Jet Neptune at the helm.
The most notable of failures pertain to the 𝘍𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘬.𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘦 motion archives released to the paypigs. These archives are riddled with several issues. Before you go blaming your friendly pirate, you should know:
- Fishtank.Live archives are motion activated. No, you don't actually get the uncut footage with a Season Pass.
- Fishtank.Live archives consist of thousands of mkv files, most, if not all of which contain corrupt header data. Because of this, you will not be able to preview the duration of each file. You can use ffmpeg to resolve this.
- Fishtank.Live archives were recorded without audio until Day 5. Some cameras seem to have audio enabled before Day 5, but you shouldn't be surprised if a clip you're looking for lacks audio entirely.
- Fishtank.Live archives are incomplete. Don't ask why. They just are. Some cameras just aren't recorded all of the time. Now pay $40!
- Fishtank.Live archives are mislabeled. Don't blame your friendly pirate for the fact the directory names are wrong.
- Fishtank.Live archives DO contain the embarrassing footage of police raiding the house. I suggest taking a look at those particular clips.
- Fishtank.Live archives contain a directory called "the-quiet-room". This directory can only be seen when capturing via script. It's empty.
- and finally, Fishtank.Live archives cost $40. That's right. $40 for corrupt, auto-generated motion captures from security camera software.

- 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎𝑺𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔 archives (starting on Day 15) are recorded 24/7 without interruption to the best of my ability, and provided to you for the low low price of $0.
- 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 archives are very kindly shared to and released by 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎𝑺𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔. They are just like our archives, but began TWO WEEKS before the show ever went live. I've done some work to adapt their files into the releases to make the file names and directories a bit more palatable for (You).
After fumbling CDN costs, doxxing their own house, having two embarrassing freak-outs about pedophile bogeymen (one of which may very well have ruined an innocent Chinese man's life), DMCA claiming random re-streamers who were only helping spread the show and lessen the bandwidth on his site, and forcing his paypigs to watch 8 people sleep in until 1PM for 6 weeks... MDE have very little reason to charge even a penny for this footage, let alone $40.

This adds a lot of work for Samir, but I've promised him an extra piece of warm nan if he does a good job.

I see you anons complaining about the upload speeds. This is inevitable while I share with the initial peers. Just keep your client running and wait for it. If you're having trouble downloading any of these torrents, feel free to let me know in the threads. I'm monitoring them regularly enough.
I've also gone ahead and added file sizes to each entry in case you can't load metadata immediately.
Finally, I'd like to address those who are worried about the file sizes. My initial estimate was about 1.25TB. Now that we're working with more footage provided by the 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆, I'm estimating a total of 1.7TB max. Then again, I might go and release the rest of the motion camera footage, which would put it a bit higher.

Day 0 added. This is a two week archive of footage provided by the 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆. The footage contains clips of the crew setting up the Fishtank house. I have no idea how they got it. I'm not going to ask. Just be happy.
Day 17 added. This is a full length recording of each camera + the bathroom cam.
Day 18 added. Sorry, it's only half of the day. My record script dun broke on me in the late hours of the night. I've supplemented the motion archives for paypigs for the time I lost.
Days 1 - 10 are slowly being sorted out from the 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 archive. Lots of file management to do on this to make them match the previous releases. Their archives aren't as complete as I thought, so don't be surprised if they're missing something (You) were looking for. Some days appear to be totally missing.
No updates to the record script, but also, no recent issues to report. It's running okay. It errors out seemingly randomly, and aside from the cookie issue (which hasn't been a problem since Day 1
, I can't pinpoint why it's doing that. I'll consult my psychic and get back to you.

Last night at around 11:00PM the Fishtank.Live website upped their Cloudflare settings. Unfortunately I didn't realize this until around midnight. Improvements are coming to the download script to manually set cookies and the user agent in the header to avoid this issue should it arise again. At the moment, my local archives are missing about 12 hours of content, but I'm working on restoring as much of that as possible.
Thanks to an alliance with the 𝑹𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝒂𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆, 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎𝑺𝒊𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔 is able to restore a wealth of footage from Days 1-14, which previously were only released from Fishtank's motion captured archives, as well as any other missing footage due to downtime. You can expect those magnet links to be dropping soon. The Days 1-14 archives will not be entirely complete, but they are damn close. Shoutouts to those anons who have been a huge help.
I will hopefully restore the missing footage from Day 17 at some point today and throw up the magnet link. It's looking like Day 18 will inevitably contain some missing footage, due to the cookie fiasco that affected everyone involved.
I'm trying to hold off on releasing anything until the day's archive is as complete as possible. Thank you for your patience.

- Jon has left Fishtank. Because of that, I'm really not paying much attention to the show unless something entertaining starts happening. Thankfully I don't really have to do anything to maintain these uploads. The computer will stay on and keep recording as usual. I'll continue updating here in case I need to report a failure due to unavoidable downtime.
- A note that these archives start and finish around midnight day to day. This one starts just before Jet has Jon and Letty debate gender roles. Maybe the last kino moment featuring only the show's original contestants.
- The script included in the /scripts/ folder shouldn't require any updates. It runs perfectly. I'm very confident I could walk away from my PC for the next three weeks without missing anything. However, if the team ever switches away from Cloudflare, my script will be down for a period of time until I can fix it. Do be aware of this.

- "!!!misc recordings" directory contains incomplete recordings from Days 12-14 (from when I was testing the record script). These recordings are not from Day 15. I would advise you to skip downloading this folder entirely, but I've offered it for the anons who want as much as they can get until someone comes along and fills in the missing pieces. Please be aware that this is the only time such a folder will be included in a release.
- The newsletters will slow down now as things have become more stable. I'll only update here if I need to report an outage in uptime.
- Fishtank.Live has been FUCKED today. Streams going up and down. Dropped frames constantly. Nothing I can do about this other than manually reset my script and try to fetch the feeds again, so expect some fucky recordings until they learn 2 code a proper website.
- I included a recap of the day to commemorate the new and improved archives. I don't write these. If anons keep writing them, and I see them, I'll include them.

I have completed a script that is invincible to the camera down fishtoy. Kind of. It obviously doesn't capture the feed, but it at least detects that the feed has stopped writing to file and makes an attempt to reset it. It does this autistically until a paypig is successfully extorted into bringing the camera back up. That script is running 24/7 on an old ThinkPad. God bless those machines.

Starting with the Day 15 release I will fully transition away from MDE's garbage archives to my own fully recorded ones. Yes, that includes 24/7 surveillance of the garage. Feel free to not download certain folders (laundry room, garage, maybe even hallways) if you're not rocking several terabytes of free HDD space. My calculator told me that weeks 3-6 would consume around 8TB. But buying a new hard drive is still a better deal than the Season Pass in my opinion. And no, I will not edit out empty rooms. We're going for full archival with synced feeds, anon, not some pussy ass bitch motion activated nonsense.
Back to the script, which has been a multi-day project to get right... I'm in an awkward situation now. I have several days of incomplete local recordings. I'm insecure about it. I'm starting to twitch.
"W-will anons make fun of me if I release these incomplete local recordings?"
I'm giving them away anyways. Day 15 will include a misc directory with all of my failed attempts at getting the script to run from Day 13-14. Some neat stuff was captured. (e.g., the beginning of the disability challenge)
So that's my update for the Day 13 release. Day 14 will be more of the same shit archives from MDE you've been downloading. But patience anon, Day 15 approaches.
p.s. If you really want full archives, you need to realize that I'm only human. Uptime isn't always under my control. I've included the script to record these for a reason. If you are serious about archiving these, do it yourself. my torrents are an honest to god best effort attempt, but nothing is guaranteed. All I can say is that we're doing a better job at this than MDE.
p.p.s if any anon has fully recorded days 1-15 so far, please god release them. Even if they aren't perfect, they're probably better than MDE's paypig archive.

A new script has been written to properly record each unique fishtank.live stream. I've included it in the directory titled "scripts" but you might want to just wait for a torrent release of the files to save your computer's precious resources. The script opens up MPV in 10 instances and uses the stream-record flag to set a directory for saving. The script SHOULD also detect when a stream expires (because the refresh keys get reset) and refresh the keys accordingly, but I'm still testing this feature.
You will also notice that this torrent contains files dated for Day 11. That's because their server seems to lag the upload of previous days at times. I manually added those files that were missing from the previous release.
Finally, anon in the /tv/ threads seems to believe that the fishtank archives on the site are only a "preview" and will be available in full at some point in time. If you also believe this, I'd like you to think about this: Why would MDE pay to host these files for download for weeks now with the intention of replacing them with even larger, more bandwidth hogging files? What, are they going to ship every Season Pass holder a 5TB hard drive? There is no reason why the nuMDE team would pay to host these garbage archives if they didn't intend for them to be the final product. I could be wrong, but I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I'm going to continue recording my own archives.
BTW, Laundry Room still isn't recording.
