The question here is whether the car or the sum of its components was worth over two grand, and the answer is absolutely yes, even if the car had a dead battery. I've seen ten-year-old LEAFs go for over forty thousand, and some parts are worth several hundred on their own.


The catalytic converter by itself is probably worth something, especially if it's an electric car without a ton of miles on it. There's a reason why cat thieves notoriously target electric cars; the metals used as catalysts are all in the valuable platinum group, so the less usage the car sees, the more of those metals are going to be intact. The cats on electric and hybrid vehicles last a particularly long time.<Disregard, I was high and got electric cars confused with hybrids.

The car's definitely totaled now, though. Whatever Paul could've sold it for is now totally outstripped by the cost of repairs. It's a pretty clear cut case of felony vandalism.

C’mon man, electric cars do not have catalytic converters. You’re thinking of hybrids.

The useful stuff on a Leaf is the drive unit which has all the EV components in one engine shaped lump. There’s no especially high value metals in it other than copper.

While I don't doubt the Tranchers were breaking a bunch of minor guns laws (improper storage, etc), there's no way the ATF & FBI will get involved just for that.
Now... if Bonnie knows a lot about the Tranch's militia plans, especially in relation to the "queer self-defense network" he mentioned before... MAYBE they'll be interested (although it's still unlikely, IMO). For those who don't remember, after the fake "siege" where the Tranchers claimed armed fascists trespassed on the Tranch, they started reaching out to & coordinating with Antifa groups in Denver and other nearby areas. The goal was to establish a mutual defense network for Colorado troons/anarchists. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the alleged squatters at the Tranch were from this network.

I remember my Bonnie/Paul hate came from when his dad died and his first thought was to bitch that he didn't get more but his mother did. It was a sign he's a person who thinks of himself above all others, and that he continued this trend with his chosen family aka the tranch. He's so fucking awful that I really can't be upset that the tranch is unraveling beneath his fingers and that he's going to be holding the bag when the gooberment comes. Him trashing a house and taking a bunch of shrooms belonging to a place Alyssa and him were dog sitting shows how entitled he is and how he believes and thinks. He's such a repulsive individual in general that the tranchers running and him seeking complete and total revenge is just hilarious. Basically, I tophat Paul the most since he somehow has even less morals then super scammer and liar Penny and the rest.

I'm not sure how psychotic it is when Bonnie just left it on the property for a year. It's at least an easy target rather than something they have to go out of their way to trash. They're psychos, but it's not like Bonnie was making moves on it any time soon. It's probably why they went after it: too cowardly to vandalize his current residence's car.

As a longtime enjoyer of male preppers larping as revolutionaries, it’s funny to me how everything Bonnie mentioned here is same old, right down to the paranoid fantasies where they’re totally going to crush agents of ZOG. Very womanly of you, Phil.

Anyway, if Bonnie is looking to punish Phil, surely he’d do better to reach out to his former command with the claim that he killed someone than to impotently tweet at his 17 followers, 15 of whom are farmers. It’s so frustrating how incompetent these people are.
