Just my luck by the time I pick up a copy of Scarlet this will have already been patched out:

It's a cheap tactic, but I like this bug because it's always satisfying to land a 1-hit K.O. move.

If I choose Fuecoco, I'm going to name it La Bamba (since Skeledirge is the Singer Pokemon, and I've had that song stuck in my head the past few days).
Maybe if you avoid all patches...

S/V will be getting a patch tomorrow, with fixes which are TBA. I do wonder if they'll patch out the duping glitch, or the Ranked Battles using the exact same RNG seed.
Glad to see they're patching the games sooner rather than later.

Nah, shitposting aside I'd rather the game run smoother than have glitches/exploits like that (though I woukd like to have been able to use the item/Pokemon duplication exploit).

Also my brief foray into Showdown has revealed to me that I have no place in competitive Pokemon battling.

At this point all I'm hoping for is that by the time I can pick up a copy of Scarlet that the Mudkip and Litten lines get added in.

I’m not too sure if this patch will actually address anything besides ranked battles and the music looping. It seems like Nintendo has taken some lessons from Bethesda when it comes to patching anything significant.
I mean, GF has always worked on ‘patch to make it run’ not ‘patch to fix bugs and glitches’ As seen in every game they’ve ever released.

Another addition to my collection.

Makes sense, since the Pokemon world is explicitly intelligent design. Of course Arceus will make it so people and Pokemon can eat meat/seafood/etc without killing Pokemon.
Veluza also naturally sheds chunks of it's flesh to hunt. Still doesn't explain where ham or bacon comes from in this world though, something has to be butchered to make those.

Just finished the Charizard event on the first try with rando's. They give you a rediculous amount of time and it's not really that bulky to begin with. I've had waaaay harder 5* raids. It seems to have perfect stats and nature right out the gate though, mine came Modest 6IV-31, curious if it's the same for every capture. Can't test it myself because you can only catch one (it's breedable though).

Can confirm the item dupe is now patched (apparently you can still if you have a cloned Don, but they can't be taken out of the party at all anymore), haven't heard if the RNG seed was fixed yet (I don't have a team yet so I can't test it), and some people are claiming the game is performing better (I'm not noticing any difference). That seems to be it for the patch.

The 7-Star Charizard Tera Raid event is live now. Other details of it are:

-You can only catch the Charizard once, but you can do the raid multiple times.

-It is Shiny locked.

-The Charizard raids don't give any Herba Mystica, but still have a chance to give Ability Patches.

-There are also Mimikyu and Florges raids, but those don't appear to have anything special.

So it looks like the 7-Star raids will have all 31 IVs then. I'm not sure if the Nature is locked though.

In other news, there is also a giveaway for some Sandwich ingredients, with the code HAJ1ME0R1G1NAL.

Point to note regarding the Charizard
- The evolution line cannot be: traded, used online, or used in raids.

This will likely be the case until Home support is enabled. While you can capture and breed it, the game effectively treats it like a hackmon at this current time.

After digging a bit into the game's features on Serebii out of boredom, I'm more disappointed than I ought to be that the clothing aspect of character customization in SV kinda got neutered in service to hairstyles, eye shapes and miscellaneous facial cosmetics. I don't care that I can now give myself a girl's hairstyle and pretty eyelashes if I were deluded enough to want that, I wanna play the game in something other than a school uniform. At least give me the choice to pull an Arven and violate the dress code a bit.

I think this is the first game where I don't like any of the final evos for the starters, I'll maybe buy this after the DLC comes out, or if they do a third version/Ultra version I'll buy that, but I think the DLC has effectively replaced those

you consider DLC worse than having to buy a third version? why do you think that?
At least back when third versions were something you expected at the time, you could generally skip out on playing the original titles and play their more fully realized versions the next year. There's no reason to play Diamond/Pearl when Platinum is so much better, a difference in game quality which has only been exacerbated by the subpar remakes (to that end, I'm really bummed we never got a Pokemon Z).

I think the way SWSH handled DLC actively withheld content from players behind steep paywalls that could have made for interesting postgame content, since the base game is like 20 hours long at most. I simply don't trust Game Freak to do DLC well.

So the patch only patched out the A+B part of the duping glitch and didn't even fix the online battle seeds. You also can't use the new Charizard in raids or trade it/any of its Evo line unless it's through Surprise Trade. Just lol lmao.

It did fix the E4 music glitch along with minor technical stuff.

Just hit credits. Christ alive, poor Arven…

My advice? Don't look deeper into it, it only gets more sad.
Oh, it is FAR too late for that, I assure you. Between the scraps of diary entries you find along Area Zero and how characters and all, act once you get into that final part, it’s incredibly tragic and dark for a fucking Pokémon game.

Tangentially, Larry needs some vacation time.
