It's not. But do we really have an alternative?
These people are supposed to be the young "elite", yet I have absolutely no desire to be like them. Nor do I envy them. I know the lifestyle they're depicting is crafted to be attractive to the masses I'm part of. I can envision a vague sense of aesthethic attractiveness from looking at these videos, yet, I do not feel it. I've grown completely numb to these dreams they're selling us.
Thank you farmers for stripping me of my ambition to "success". I've noticed that browsing threads such as this one made me way more nihilistic.
More? More.

Curious if there's any desire for an indepentent Disney Adults thread. I've measured the accumulated cringe potential and found it shocking to say the least.
There’s already a Disney thread in Multimedia. It covers more than just the fans, though.
This too:

Would very much enjoy that.

This bitch deserves her own OP. Do you follow her? I might make time to do a deep dive.
I can write a thread up on her. From feeding her kids out of dog bowls to filming herself buying their incontinence supplies, there's a 16 passenger van load full of shit on Alicia. I'll have it up tomorrow probably.
Shit, invite me, I'm curious.

I cannot wait to read that

I hate these weeb zoomers which enter comics and expect comic art to be manga/anime coomer garbage. Nothing pisses me off more then when these zoomer weebs say classic comic artists like Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, George Perez, Frank Quitley, ect are ugly because they aren't "attractive" like manga is designed to be. The best modern artists working out of DC right now are like all south americans (esp brazilians) and eastern Europeans my favorite being Bilquis Evely

A bunch of PANELS from the one punch man manga put in sequence:

I think I can see why zoomers are biased.

I’m waiting with baited breath. I assume you already know she has a subreddit?

I like sandman a lot better than one punch man though. You could make the same comparison with a lot of manga panels versus western capeshit art that looks kewl so its not exactly fair, people used to do just that all the time when i was on art forums.

This comparison becomes even goofier when you take into account One punch man is a funny moments kind of series and literally got it's start as a fucking wacky ass mspaint scribble looking comic. It only got visually elaborate like this after other people aside from the guy that made it got hired to do the art IIRC. In this case specifically it feels more like it's a "tech behind printing comics has advanced in the last several decades" situation but if you put modern comics next to those OPM panels it'd be like night and day in a different way.

ONES style can only be described as an elaborate shitpost. The other version is a full remake. Part of the fun of the first season of OPM and MOb Psycho was seeing some of the best people in anime adapting something that originally looked like this.

And yet even with the art being an elaborate shitpost it still is distinctive and striking, it possesses a certain level of style that the Sandman panels above it lack since they look very generic in comparison to the rest of their own respective medium. Honestly I prefer the original One Punch Man comic style to the redo for that reason, the redo is vidually impressive but it really looks like stills from the anime, the original ONES art stands out in a way that it almost seems like it's intentionally shitty in a good way.

It looks disgusting if she is sharing those hair tools with other coworkers.
That might be a turnoff to potential tech workers who are mysophobic.
I'm curious which """"""""tech"""""""" company she works for. I highly doubt she's a network engineer or a codemonkey, probably some advertising/social media or journalist shit.

I saw some videos where it's actually tech recruiters who post these videos (and they even said the company they work for).

Software engineers and other tech people usually don't post these videos since they sometimes don't have time to use these amenities (unless they are attentions whores).

Another one of those look what we get at work vids.

Let's go on an adventure!

This icon was on the door in the background, and it looked familiar but I didn't recognize it. Nor did I recognize any of these applications as being something that's company-specific.

So I searched for "tech company perks candy bar" and found her TikTok account:

This gives us her job:

Then I saw this in the comments of one video:

So we find their HQ and ta-da, she's in Toronto.

Don't know how accurate this pay data I found is, though:

TL;DR: She's a client services manager for Tucows out of Toronto.

MLB Playoffs are coming up soon in the next couple of months, so I figured why not show some baseball consumerism in the process.

There’s some other popular videos on the subject alone, but these two are just them going on about how they spent thousands of plus dollars on these rare collectible cards.

Baseball cards have absolutely plummeted in value and baseball is at a ~30 year low in terms of revenue. The MLB has lost 20% of their in person audience from 2007, covid would explain this if the NFL and NHL didn't both set records for ticket sales in 2021. ESPN has also reduced their baseball coverage by 60% in favor of the NBA, which has a younger fanbase.

Sports cards sales in general took a deep dive, in 2021 Michael Jordan's rookie card sold for ~$700,000 and in 2022 it is valued at only ~$200,000 that is a drop bigger than bitcoin. All but the most expensive of cards have dropped in value by an average of 12%. You also don't get vintage cards from new packs. The vintage market is the hot market right now, the new cards don't really sell because right now there is no Barry Bonds, there is no breakout athlete right now in baseball. If I wanted Baltimore pitcher Spenser Watkins' autographed rookie card, it is valued at $30 (not even worth grading for reasons discussed elsewhere in this thread). I can easily find one on ebay for under $15. Just because a sports collectors book tells you that a card is worth a certain amount, that does not mean you get that amount.

As I have said before, having an expensive card does not mean you SELL the expensive card. Once you get above about $1,000 the number of people willing to buy any collectable drops dramatically. A Mickey Mantle baseball card is valued at $12.6M but how many people have the money to buy it? It even dropped by $100,000 from 2021-2022.

Finally, fuck these people who take the piss out of collecting for kids. Baseball cards are supposed to connect kids to their favorite sports celebrities and the assholes who buy out every pack of cards just kill the fun for kids. It is one thing to say "I have a card worth $5K" and enjoy that, it is another to clear out the collectable toys for CHILDREN with your adult income, it is not fair to the kids. They have to mow lawns and shit to make money, have a heart for the little ones.
