There are people who literally sent Chris $500 for no reason at all, just to see how he spent it.

Of course there are people who would be willing to give Chris money. There are apparently people who are even willing to break the law and destroy blarms Sonic Boom merchandise on video just to get Chris to notice them. But for thieving Cole to get a red cent out of anybody, he'd have to sweeten the deal quite a bit. And I don't think even agreeing to talk about Chris or their mother will still net him anywhere close to $250.
Even if he did talk about his mother how would we know he was telling the truth? He clearly doesnt want to talk about them so he could just make stuff up that we would want to hear.

Even when Cole thinks he's telling the truth, he's clearly not. The "ricocheting bullet" story, for example.

Chris does the same thing though (yet another shared trait from the Weston gene pool, no doubt). The only difference between Chris and Cole in that regard is that Chris's lies are blatantly obvious whereas Cole...well his are pretty easy to root out too, but at least he does it with some degree of finesse Chris lacks.

Cole Smithey's Top 100 Movies

This list looks so much like a DVD collection created by the publisher of an academic newspaper: "Our Quality Selection of Tasteful Films for the Connoisseur of Arthaus Cinema -- get yours today for only 99 €! 10% off for the true intelligent thinker who purchases a year-long subscription to our insightful publication along with it!"

>Salo

Stopped reading there.

Lol what a douchebag.

This guy lists two Kurosawa films but neither of them is Seven Samurai or Ran? Get the fuck out of here with your bullshit.

I'd tell him to blow it out his ass but his head is in the way.

To be fair, there's no guarantee Cole has actually seen the movies on his top list. They're ideal titles to cherry-pick if you want to sound educated but don't actually have a fucking clue

If he were doing that, he'd have made the obvious choices for Kurosawa for instance. I have no doubt that he actually just has really shitty taste.

What strikes me as the most offensive is that there is no "guilty pleasure" picks nor are there any surprise choices like Cannon's Runaway Train. It's all these very safe, obvious films. He's definitely trying to impress someone and that's it.

It's a really odd selection. He goes a little bit Hollywood with Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers, presumably because of the satirical element. Yet as satire goes, it's really heavy-handed compared to, say, Verhoeven's more popular film Robocop. He includes Night of the Living Dead, but not the arguably superior sequel Day of the Dead. And I don't know what The Rocky Horror Picture Show is doing on there - it's not exactly an arty film, it runs out of plot halfway through and the only artistic message it has is, "B-movies are great, here's a guy in a corset so you can pretend you're really worldly for watching this."

I love Starship Troopers a lot but now I wish I didn't seeing it on his crappy list for jerks.

The whole thing definitely comes off as someone trying to parade their opinion as academic or fact.
