There are three kinds of sneaker heads.

1: The flaming fag who keeps his inner homo in check by engaging in the kind of conspicuous consumer of footwear that is womens domain.


2: The autistic super faggot: He craves the control and collecting high that normal autists usually get from collecting stamps/coins/Pokémon cards/whatever. But he’s a peak beta male and is afraid to be outed as a nerd. Instead, like the heroin addict forced to satiate his craving with cough syrup and Tylenol 3s, he collects something more “macho” and usually associated with niggers and not nerds: Sneakers.


3: The Bitcoin bro/trustfund kid. This is the rarest kind. He has more money than he knows what to do with, and in lack of an actual personality, he chose sneakers as something to get attention with.

Some of them have hundreds of pairs that they refuse to wear or they act like annoying cunts and whine anytime their shoes get a tiny scuff on it or dirt or whatever. Some of them are pricks who talk shit and insult other people's choice of shoes because they "only" cost $100 and aren't $500 sweatshop special editions. Or they insult someone else for wearing "the same shoes" a month later because they think you need multiple new pairs of shoes every season. Hood types, when jealous of someone else's nice shoes, also commonly provoke fights by accusing other people of having "fake" shoes which is one of the absolute worst insults in the ghetto.

This specific thing infuriates me more than anything else about race baiting. You just got caught doing something illegal, and you're going to bitch that the trap was racist? It always comes back to childhood doesn't it? Most shoe collectors collect sneakers. 100$ sneakers are something that a kid would think is a status symbol or an icon for coolness so they get a fetish for it still in adult age.

You get them young, you get them for life.

As someone who is guilty of statue collecting consoomerism, I don't understand collecting shoes either.

My other guess on why PS1/2 & Xbox is cheaper would be how much easier it is to pirate games on real hardware for the others:
  • PS1 can use tonyhax to run CD-Rs without a modchip, along with the swap-trick.
  • PS2 Has FreeMcBoot with either DVD-Rs or ISOs off a local file server.
  • Xbox can be softmodded into booting DVD-Rs or straight from the internal hard drive (this one had the biggest drop in price, IMO.)
In comparison, the GC either requires a custom game save, action replay, or modchip, along with special DVD-Rs

tonyhax was just a recent thing. FMB didn't come out until like 2009 or so. The softmod community sprung up in like 2002/3 IIRC. You can also upgrade the Xbox's HDD and put every game on the system. There's a new bios hack that allows up to 16tb drives now. Before it was limited to 2tb. 4-8tb should be enough for every Xbox Game/Demo/Homebrew Plus Emulators and their games (Atari 2600 - N64/PS1).

There's a new modchip released for the GC that allows you to use a RPi Pico to boot directly into SWISS to boot games from the serial port. The Wii is still easier to hack and use since you can use any USB Drive or SD Card. But this new hack isn't that expenseive and probably cost under $50 raw material (Pico + SD2SP2+256gb Micro SD). Still requires soldering but its a 1 time thing. Apparently there's a fucking m.2 adapter in dev. for the serial 1 port. Nuts.


The only reason to use a GC over Wii is video quality. the GC's video is better than the Wii's. Or you can just get one of the newer SBCs [RK3588] and run Wii and GC games in 1080p plus every other system under the sun below PS2.

Edit: For a while, to get the best video quality out of the GC, it was super expensive. Since the only component cables were using the digital port and those were sold in limited quanties and required some special handshake shit to work. So very few 3rd party cables were made. Folks did hack the digital port and figure out how to use it. But its still more expensive than just grabbing a set of Wii Component Cables.
