Chara's whole deal is that they're generally just an extremely unnerving character, so I guess it's sorta fitting. But what makes them unnerving in the actual game is that they're extremely cutesy while being completely evil and this doesn't really capture that.

The Frisk one does look relatively cute tho.

From what I've seen, the opposite is true. These are the people that will shriek "PEDOPHILE!!1!" if you even THINK about drawing NSFW/shipping art of an aged-up character that's underage in the canon text (and the same thing for incest ships), but when it comes to their ships then it's "just a coping mechanism."

Personally, I think both the arguments for and against NSFW art of underage characters (aged-up or otherwise)/incest ships/"problematic" ships are stupid. Let people like what they like in fiction as long as they have a healthy distinction between fiction and reality and don't advocate fucked up shit IRL. I'd rather the sick fucks of the world draw guro loli fetish art than actually go out and eviscerate a child.

Certainly.

Though the "aged up=pedo" argument is even stupider. Not just because they're obviously drawing that character as an adult which kinda goes against being a pedo but... it's like saying all relationships are pedophilia because that person you like was a child once!

Perhaps they need to think about the term "If everything is (pedophilia) then nothing is (pedophilia)". As in they're making such a big deal over non-pedo things that it actually de-legitimizes actual pedophilia... which they defend at all costs (see: Nyberg)

You're both right. There are groups of people who love pedophilia/incest ships and will defend them to the death and there are groups of people who despise even the slightest notion of them.
I know it feels like it sometimes but not all of tumblr has the same opinion on a subject, and there's lots of infighting and discourse on things. This is just one of them.

It almost reminds me of this episode from House M.D. where this artist's paintings got more distorted overtime but he thought they got better.
 
That last picture in that timeline looks like it came straight out of a chinese bootleg cut out version of El Tigre characters. I didn't know someone could turn a cheerful and almost always in a good mood sort of character like Ibuki Mioda into an angry gremlin.

This moral guardian shit is why people like zamii almost died. They'll scream about protecting kids but the most vocal have some skeletons in their closet.
 
IMO Chara being white makes sense because their In Game sprite has pale-peach colored skin with rosy cheeks, but what I DON'T get is why there's such a sudden trend of making Frisk black. Their in-game sprite is yellow, shouldn't the logical conclusion be to make them Asian? Oh but I guess Asians count as white to tumblrites or something.
