Bayern felted in the first leg. I'd imagine the second leg is going to be Villareal parking the bus for 90 minutes and hoping to get by with a scoreless draw or maybe a goal on the counter. They just lost to the worst team in La Liga last weekend. How the fuck are they still in this tournament? Oh yeah, they played Juve in the round of 16 :story:

Lol neverton cant even beat burnley with 2 refballed pens

~Going down, going down, going down~
As I addressed on the prior page, they are fucked with these fixtures ahead. Burnley have Norwich next. Win that and they'll be back in the running at 27 points, 2 points ahead of Everton and 4 behind Leeds and Newcastle. Leeds and Newcastle have to pray that they don't get dragged behind either, with a rough fixture list ahead.

Brazil will do as follows: Fumble through their matches against Serbia and Switzerland, eking out short victories at most with them. Steamroll through Cameroon, giving out the illusion the team is a total contender. Pass through Round of 16 without many difficulties, then completely drop the spaghetti against the first decent team they come across. It's been like this since 2006 and don't expect that to change. It's amazing how we always delude ourselves into thinking our NT is this total top contender for the World Cup, just because we buttfucked Bolivia and Venezuela.

The last times Brazil won the Cup, they spent most of the Qualifiers playing wobbly and inconsistently, with a revolving door of players that, for the most part, never firmed themselves at an international level. Hell, for the 2002 campaign, they had three different coaches before settling with Luiz Felipe Scolari, the eventual champion. They had next to no hype and lots of pressure to perform well. Since the aforementioned 2006, the pressure is always diluted with the hype of a "super tactical and talented team" that will totally bring back the trophy to these lands, for sure this time. I could spend ages describing what went wrong in each campaign.

lol Barcelona, lmao even. (Still half an hour to play, watch this jinx me)

Edit: Within minutes of typing this, they equalised. Lol
1-1 on the road is a decent result for Barca. Leaves them to lose it at home in front of their fans lul

West Ham though have it all to play for next week in France. That's gonna be tough

With the apparent rumour of UEFA implementing new rules to reserve two places in the Champions League for teams of "notable historic performance" by which they mean, they want Barcelona in next season, At first I wanted West Ham to win the Europa title out of spite over Arsenal's European failures, now I want them to win it because Arsenal might get entered for the fucking sake of it.

Barcelona are 2nd in La Liga. Also that spot isn't going to an English team. UEFA hates the brits to an almost based level. Its probably designed to get a French, German, Spanish, Italian, or some other major club to get into the Champions League that didn't qualify but has name recognition for Uefa. Lyon, PSV, Napoli, Olympiacos, Fenerbache, Galatasaray, Marseille, and maybe even Celtic would all be in that conversation this year before a British team even got considered

As it is, the English teams can get five squads into Champions League on many occasions. There’s no real need to have six English squads in there.
You are forgetting the infamous and historical Newcastle FC who deserve automatic berth. No one cared before but now things are different 💰💰💰

I'm not trying to downplay the self-avowed socialist/vaccine nazi Krybaby Klopp's accomplishments at Victimpool, but when you really break it down; in 7 Seasons:

1 Premier League
1 Mickey Mouse Cup
1 UEFA Champions League
1 UEFA Super Cup
1 FIFA Richest Club Wins Club World Cup

I don't know, man. His reign might be a tad overrated. I know 96pool were fucking losers domestically for the better part of 30 years, but is that all it took to become a Heyselpool legend? 1 league? I guess he gets extra credit for being competitive with a club like City existing like he was competitive against Bayern.

I think he is a great manager all things considered. Just a thought to ponder.

If he somehow wins the remaining Silverware for this season, I'd be more impressed. Especially as Liverpool clash with City in the FA Cup semi-finals and continue to chase them by a point in the league.

I think its the context of who he is competing against along with the silverware. City and (before the brits decided to hamstring them) Chelsea spent a ton to win domestically. And then they had to compete with the same Bri'ish teams along with Real Madrid's dominate European squads, PSG spending like crazy, Juve spending more than they can afford, and Bayern just being a machine ever year. To get a win and consistently keep Liverpool at the top is quite a feat considering they aren't breaking the bank too bad with their squad
