You don't think it has to do with that fact that the only exclusives nowadays are only the first party titles for some of the companies?
It's doubtful because third party stuff even if it's multiplatform still does well. You also have timed third party exclusives which wind up selling more on the initial platform than anywhere else. Consoles have also had success already with converting PC gamers.

Like right now despite hardware shortages, not one of the hardware companies are doing bad. All 3 are also branching out into other forms of media to also advertise their hardware and software.

How are they converting PC gamers? Like if you have a PC that can run Elden Ring why do you need a PS5?

Efficiency, price, cheat protection for most games. Company IPs

The entire reason why sony started to port stuff to PC wasn't to spread out to PC as a catered platform, but to draw people from it so they wind up buying a playstation.

Countries like China, India, and parts of Europe and Asia are the primary audience who go from PC to console. PC doesn't get a whole lot of exclusives at this point especially compared to the past unless they're always online type of games. There's no PC Centric game companies outside of Valve at this point.

If Sony wanted to spread its audience why doesn't it have Stores in asian regions then?

Depending on country they have some retail stores, but the way they have decided to do it primarily is to mostly advertise is through other forms of media.

No I mean the literal Online PS Store. I remember back in 2018 there was a Filipino Gran Tourismo player that got banned due to some Hong Kong Players complaining about him in the tourney and Sony banned him because his Playstation account was not from his home, which was impossible because there is no PS Store in the Philippines. Which is odd considering the Playstation is probably the 2nd/3rd gaming unit after Cellphones and maybe computers.

There's regional grouping for some areas. However there's nothing stopping you from making an account from outside your country, that's always been able to be done. Some countries like Korea require a social security number to be applied when you sign up for an online account.

I think for official competitions there might have been region exclusions or some legal stuff involved.

No idea either.
He has yet to post any proof that the conversion is even happening (at least significant enough), so it's likely another of his ridiculous fanfictions that he's been repeating for several months now. Admitting that SIE royally fucked up the PS brand in recent years would be against his religion

There is things stopping you from doing that though besides I just want to use my free codes. If you want to buy anything on the store your going to have to go somewhere else to get money on your account. Add to that no regional pricing. Doesn't the cheaper PS5 have no disc drive so you have to buy all your stuff online? So your paying 10-20% more for games because there is no store in your region is not a real good look, especially since Steam and Epic have stores in the region.

they've also literally said
“And that’s the goal — we want to reach new gamers who haven’t yet experienced the great stories, characters, and worlds that we’ve built,” he concluded. “Releasing games on PC will not come ever at the expense of building an exciting lineup of great console games.”

You need to cool your MATI Boner my dude, a-logging is not a good look

I would say the PC Ports would be considered "The First Hit if Free" type of deal, but many were willing to pay full price. It's also not SIE who instituted the One Sony Policy which is what started this IP growth, that would be Sony Group of Japan. All this is the brainchild of their current CEO who wanted to make this his legacy.

codes are region specific, however once you download it, any account from any region can use the DLC outside of a few exceptions like PSN avatars and Fortnite currency.

The PS Plus changes mention adding more asian countries in the future and being they have Malaysia which is right next door as well as Thailand, they might cover the Philippines in the future or have it part of a regional group like how Australia gets grouped with Europe for game regions and DLC.

The only hope is they said "the rest of the Asian countries prices to follow" but I wouldn't count on it since the big market you listed, India, is not on the list yet. I remember people were saying when FF14 would release Oceania servers the Philippines may get support and well that was a big nothing burger. In the very first paragraph they say "SIE has been at the forefront of innovation with game subscription services." And yet they make a new console that has no Disc drive that's cheaper and yet Sony didn't use the PS4 to expand their Online stores to make way for that cheaper digital only PS5.

Here is another thing to put into perspective.

Elden Ring in Hong Kong PS Store= $479 HKD which equals about 3,100 Philippine Pesos
Elden Ring in Thailand PS Store= 1990 Thai Baht which also equals about 3,100 PHP
Elden Ring on Steam in the Philippine store = 1,999.95 Philippine Pesos.
So if someone in the Philippines has a Digital Only PS5 they have to pay almost 50% more for their games due to not having a local PS Store.

One Steam review = Lots of PC gamers buying a console....Yea maybe just maybe those reviews are like the thousands of other Hyperbolic reviews on Steam.

Considering that their digital invite events and B&M stores keep selling out, clearly people are buying them. Especially since both Elden Ring and Horizon were played mostly on PS5 than PS4. Their strategy seems to be working. They even have Limited Run and other companies putting out niche games for the ps5 in physical form.

And for inflated game prices, I feel you, Australia is the same way.

That still doesn't prove shit. Scalpers/Online sellers could be buying them hell normal people could be buying them since its post covid to a degree and they are available without going through scalpers. Can you literally prove the number of PC players converting to PS5 players? Cuz if not your just making a lot of assumptions.

Timed exclusivity for games is bullshit. What is the advantage of having a title or features locked behind a brand of consoles for the consumer?

You think CoD would be more popular because of their timed exclusivity with Playstation?

According to the Chinese numbers it's been working

Stuff like CoD features is bullshit, but for Developers timed exclusivity means their bill gets footed by one company and they can release the game to a wider audiance later. It's a move that reduces risk. Timed Exclusivity is a very good thing from the developer's end.

No one is dumb enough to think Sony tries to catered PC platform, more like getting a bit more profit after their guaranteed sales on console exclusive.

but to draw people from it so they wind up buying a playstation.
In these days and ages, I haven't seen anyone actually owning a gaming PC would prefer console over it. Unless, a few things to consider:
1) They aren't patience enough for time exclusive for some series.
2) Someone who is already Sony fan, exclusive titles. Since no one knows if the exclusive game will be ported to PC or not. Or even some special exclusive deals - in game items only on Playstation instead of PC.
3) Crossplay and crossave features may not be available. Reluctant to restart progress again on PC. Then having friends on PS platform but not on PC.

Do you even consider gaming current days are relatively mainstream now? It's "cool" to gaming, not to be make fun of.
Like how journal-scum talks about gaming should be more accessible (game difficulty debate) and fake nerd/geek talks about gatekeeping or how gaming should be more inclusive.

Then considering there are people owning multiple game platforms or all of them just to play exclusive titles.
Next, back to point number 2 above, you have people are willing to buy the game twice, just to experience the game again on a better gaming platform.

When the game isn't exclusive on Playstation, why someone who can or owns a gaming PC would play on an inferior performance machine?
Remember when you said you weren't wrong about Elden Ring total sales (EU region) on PS being highest?

At least a couple weeks ago when they announce 12 mil copies sold, PC has become the highest for EU region.

If PS5 is doing so hot, why do Sony has to keep relying on PS4 that much?

I don't see how that means PC players are converting to console. It's saying expanding more audience in China like every typical big US companies wanting that China audience.

Oh wait, I forgot it's you and your delusional imagination with Sony in the same bed with you.

You can't really be this dense, that shows nothing except how many PC players are in China. Not one damn thing about how many have converted to PS5, just that PS is targeting them.
Yes and the stuff has been selling out. Which means the console is doing well in a market that was entrenched with PC.
