Bill Cosby Rape Allegations

Bill Cosby has recently been accused by at least 20 or so women of sexual assault dating back to the late 1960's. Considering the fact that he was probably one of, if not the most famous comedian on the planet 30 years ago, this is the American equivalent of the Jimmy Saville scandal. And the strange thing is, the whole thing came to light from a stand-up routine by Hannibal Buress.

And here's a timeline of how the allegations have progressed: http://www.vulture.com/m/2014/09/timeline-of-the-abuse-charges-against-cosby.html

Either

A.) Cosby is lying, and he's actually raped women
B.) The women are lying, and they're leveling false accusations of rape for personal gain.
C.) Cosby has raped some women, but other women are jumping on the publicity bandwagon and leveling false accusations of rape for personal gain.

It's one of those depressing situations where no matter what the truth is, someone is being, or has been a vile piece of shit.

I don't know what the truth is or who to believe...but the list of accusers is set to be around 40 women by the new year.

Man, if Cosby is guilty, he is the most successful sociopath in history...making the ENTIRE WORLD fall in love with you for decades, meanwhile: RAPE TIME!

Indeed. All three choices reveal certain people in this to be vile. Cosby can be proven to be a sociopath if he really did do this. Some (or all if B is true) of these women are shown to be nothing more than greedy opportunist that only seek fame and money at the expense of integrity, especially towards those that have had (or nearly had) been raped.

One can only wonder how many of them are actually lying and how many of them were raped by Cosby.

Considering that a lot of the women are saying the same things about how Cosby allegedly assaulted them i.e. gave them some pills and booze, they pass out to wake up to Cosby being on top of them, I believe that at least some of these allegations are true. Still, the criminal justice system should play itself out.

Here are some slightly more credible accusers. Honestly, Janice Dickenson is a huge attention whore and most of what she says is garbage. But these women legitimately seem like they were taken advantage of during vulnerable times (one womans son recently died, another is a girl who looked up to him as a mentor in the industry, stuff like that)...pretty crazy shit.

I don't have the clip, but Howard Stern interviewed one of the accusers in the past, long before the allegations came to light, and she made a few oblique references to Bill Cosby being too powerful to criticize and didn't want to talk about why she had to write him out of her autobiography because she feared the backlash.

Actually, that's Janice Dickenson too. She was promoting an autobiography and said Cosby's "people" forbade her from mentioning him in her book...Stern pressed her for more info and she uncomfortably said something to the effect of "Let's just say Bill Cosby is NOT a nice man..." if I'm remembering correctly.

EDIT: Found the clip

Holy shit, how ironic is it that Pine Tar was the one who started this thread. :story:

Plus, I'm not sure how Bill can sue for emotional distress.

He's suing for defamation of character.

All they have are accusations, really. And most people guilty of it (famous ones) settle out of court.

If he did it, he's a scumbag. If he didn't, it's people jumping on a hype train for free money (this has happened before).

Something in me is sayin' that the guy who sold Puddin' Pops and who was a huge part of my childhood is innocent, but that might be bias on my part.

It's been over a year since we found out what most likely happened. I was tempted to make a new thread with the latest news about this, but forum etiquette suggest bumping.

Bill is gonna sue 7 of the accusers for emotional distress.

Suing your rape victims after basically admitting the substantive allegations that you drugged women to fuck them is true.

This is going to go over well.
