Dumb thought, but what about Chernobyl? I don't think it's a high-value target, but hell. One errant missile upon the New Safe Containment could really cause some ugly shit to happen.
>putin tweets "sorry about STALKER 2, as a consolation here is the real life version"

I will enjoy the coming slap fights on twitter and this thread between Nationalistic Moskals high on hopium and Globohomo American Jorurnos high on copium. Putin delivered for once, god bless.

So, what exactly is Putin's endgame with this?

Rhetoric? He's spoken about Ukraine being a part of Russia a lot. Having a buffer state and preventing NATO from expanding to Russia's doorstep.

Think it has something to do with the economy? Destabilize the region, install a puppet government, have East and West Ukraine fight it out and profit?

Legacy?

I feel like I can believe him saying he doesn't want to occupy Ukraine

I just don't quite get it. By all accounts this will most likely be bad for Russia (and the world)

Regardless, there was very very little resistance. YOu guys think that is more due to the nature and precision of the attack or something along the lines of the military and locale not supporting the government?
