First news regarding the Ukrainian Air Force I've seen. I don't envy those guys... flying a jet anywhere in the east is probably a death sentence at the moment.

Not sure where I heard it, always 20 different websites i frequent, but I heard some claims China was gonna play nice but to be on the lookout after the olympics. It makes sense, but then again anyone could throw that shit out there.
China and Russia are friendly at least, so it might be a two pronged thing. Who fucking knows though, until it happens.

Don't be that surprised. The Russians probably have been planning for such a contingency for years. They've probably kept up to date intelligence on Ukrainian military units and material.
 
Dumb thought, but what about Chernobyl? I don't think it's a high-value target, but hell. One errant missile upon the New Safe Containment could really cause some ugly shit to happen.

I get why this matters and why this is extremely important and everything...

But besides "Putin is a dictator", I can't really see why I'd root for him to lose too much. The fact that a bunch of neolibs want him to be strung up kind of makes me wonder if he's not really the bad guy here.

Is that an uneducated point of view?

In the scenario the USA commits itself to helping Ukraine I can definitely see China trying to grab Taiwan.

I have a single beer left. I'll consider it a victory if Ukraine holds out until I go to sleep.
