People are mad about the smoothing but it does not bother me. If I had grown up with and played them on PS and Dreamcast, then I might have trouble adjusting to it.

First game's dub with virtual unknowns is still there in all its bad glory. Second one of course gets the professionals.
Well to be fair, this is not okay.

People that think this is okay should have their hands smashed with hammers.

The reality is that you can buy a Switch, not touch a single Nintendo game, and still get your money’s worth out of it in playtime solely on its absolute mountain of cheap indie titles.
I mostly have one because of retro remasters that don't make it to PC like Pocky and Rocky. Imagine if Disney released a new kind of media player that would 1) beam Citizen Kane directly into your brain in 3D and allow you to personally interact with the characters, and it would also 2) let you watch Black Panther in 480x680 with mono sound and you have to pay a monthly fee for it. Then you look on the internet and everybody's hyped for Black Panther and the Citizen Kane remaster sells 12 copies. That's the Switch for me.

I'm more inclined to think Nintendo is going to at the very least make a whole new version that includes exclusive software. Because even the 3DS did it.
Isn't that just what a new console is now? Whether the Super Switch 64 releases next year or 20 years from now, it will have 99.9% backwards compatibility w/Switch 1 and some weird Nintendo-y variant of a dual shock controller.

Pretty much, unless something happens where certain components become too hard to source that requires stuff that's no longer as common as it was.

You know, it's kind of odd that we're not seeing a bunch of 3DS games getting remade for the Switch during these fairly dead times. The platform's dead and old stock is fairly hard to come by, yet we've got numerous games that'd work just fine when ported to the Switch, and that just hasn't happened.

How would you go about getting the 2nd screen to show up on the TV? The Switch isn't a WiiU in which you're using two screens at the same time so it made sense for them to port regular DS games onto the WiiU. Only way I could see it is if they do like what they did for the Ace Attorney trilogy on the regular Wii and have a button for the bottom screen, but even then it has it's limits because some games require you utilize BOTH screens to do shit. Companies would have to work the bottom screen mechanics into one screen with the switch controls or just nuke them entirely.

Yeah, you'd just rework it, though for the most part, that'd consist of just having to add HUD elements like a minimap and then make more pause menus for items.

The games I had in mind were Super Mario 3D Land, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Fire Emblem Awakening, Shin Megami Tensei IV, and Rhythm Heaven Megamix, all five of which would work fine single-screen. Anything that was designed around utilizing both screens in conjunction with one another would need to be drastically reworked, but I think there are enough heavy hitters to where it shouldn't be too much trouble to remake and rerelease them.

Fire Emblem Awakening's 10th anniversary is this April. If there's going to be a Switch port of it, like I've seen people speculate, that would be the time to announce it.

I was hoping that they would make an all in one compilation for fire emblem fates since it actually needs it, but then again Xenoblade Chronicles X remains stranded on the wii-u. They're going to coast on pokemon for the remainder of the year and probably announce Black and White being remade and that's the remake that people are going to make a fuss about.

Probably because the top 30 chart of best selling 3ds games looks like this:

Almost Everything either already has a superior direct sequel, is Pokémon (which will get remakes in 10 years), or is Zelda (which will probably get remade in 10 years).

The two standout exceptions are Nintendogs and Tomodaichi life. Kid Icarus would be cool too.

They could just rework the games to work on a single screen. Blaster Master Zero did this.

Would love to see a port of Luigi's Mansion 2.

The OOT and MM remakes would also be good candidates as their second screen functionality was mere conveniences at best.

Same goes for WW and TP for that matter, an active inventory screen isn't worth keeping them locked to a dead console.

Anyone here played Sinner?

The art style looks gorgeous but I was shocked that it's like an 18GB download for a game on sale for under $5.

3DS ports I'd love on Swtch:
Dragon Ball Fusions
Project X Zone 1 & 2

I would pay good money for Switch ports of Ever Oasis, Kirby Planet Robobot, and Yokai Watch 2.

And on the topic of Switch ports of 3DS games, it seems odd that Nintendo hasn't ported Kid Icarus: Uprising to Switch. Being able to play the game with two thumb sticks instead of that painful method on the 3DS would be a huge improvement to an already great game.

I fully agree. Most of my playtime comes from third-parties, the Nintendo games just make a small portion of my library

Japanese crossover games are generally a lifetime deal you won't see on other systems at a later date sadly, due of all the licensing.
Super Robot Wars can be a exception at times. V & X were ported on Switch so to make the whole "International" saga trilogy available on the platform for example.

As far port begging goes, I personally want the other Vanillaware games (13 Sentinels coming out in April is a good start at least), more old Nippon Ichi Software games (Phantom Kingdom and ZHP are releasing worldwide this year too) and Aquaplus (the Utawarerumono trilogy, Dungeon Travelers, To Heart and White Album)

Why would they do 3D Land. It would just compete with 3D World.

I would throw Kirby in the mix, some of his, arguably, best titles are on the system. Kid Icarus would also be nice as previously stated.

Even still, the 3DS really does not have that many titles that I believe need to return. It was a pretty lukewarm system that ran into many of the unoriginality and general laziness issues the Wii U had. Luckily, it had much stronger stand out titles with Awakening, Uprising, Between Worlds, and Kirby, but it was still a system that mostly sat on the shelf for me. I think my problem is that I don’t play RPGs, which seemed to be the genre keeping the system alive. Take out those and it just leaves the system feeling bland unlike its older brother the DS, which is under appreciated for how much variety it holds.

I think I am just mad about the lack of 3D platformers. How does the DS seemingly have more than the system with 3D in the title?

As a side note, if we are talking about bringing back games with licensing nightmares, than I fully want this one on Switch as it was the SpongeBob BFBB of the platform:

It's Mario, it prints money. Put it in a compilation with Mario Land 1 and 2 and also Mario Teaches Typing just to be funny and call it Super Mario Handheld All-Stars
I would actually love an All-Stars 2 that includes Galaxy 2, 3D Land, and 64 DS, too bad it will never happen. I would play the shit out of a joy-stick controlled, HD, 64 DS. It was such an underrated gem.
