Well, it looks like I'll have a second Shiny to my "missed" list and a sixth Shiny to my "caught" pile, I heard the Shiny ping twice while dicking around in the Alabaster Icelands. The missed one was over in Heart's Crag and it was nowhere to be seen (whilst also avoiding getting my ass kicked by the Alpha Gardevoir that spawns over there) so I'm assuming it was a Basculin, those little fuckers have a tendency of running off even under the best of circumstances.

The second one was what I assumed was a Shiny Bergmite but atfer getting closerto check it out it was acually a Shiny Snorunt. I almost flubbed this one due to an Alpha Gastly wanting to start some shenanigans but after taking a bit of a risk and triggering a battle I caught it without issue.
Smoke balls, berries, and sneak spray are your friends.
What berries do you recommend using for mass outbreak hunting? I've been chucking Oran Berries and occasionally those cakes you get for opening up crates/chests and completing some requests.

I’ll have to look again, I know some berries specifically dull reaction times and make them easier to catch….

I've completed the main story and now I'm on post story (won't say what it is but I wasn't prepared and failed). I took some photos of my Pokémon.

I don't want to evolve the Teddiursas now, they look adorable like that! My fave YTer, Pikasprey, is doing a playthrough of this game and he loves Teddiursas so I caught my own pack of bears of differeing sizes. I want to do that for a lot of Pokémon for the heck of it.

And that Overqwil looks funny as heck, I love it. :)

My only real gripe with Legends isn’t even about the graphics - again, it’s Pokémon, the bar is low enough - it’s just that I wish they gave us a goddamn minimap. Seriously, even just a compass in the corner would be an improvement…

I have to keep setting flags to satchels I want to find so I don't have to keep bringing up the map. Breath of the Wild had those colourful markers to point you in the right direction if you want to go and heck, even have the option to turn it off.

I've seen a couple clips of people seeing Pokémon flying in the distance but never anyone point out that they're moving with 3fps animation. Is having less movement on screen supposed to optimise the game?

Honestly, after this game, I'm gonna emulate future Pokémon games because it's clear that Gamefreak can't polish games now. This game is fine but fine isn't good enough as Pokémon games back then were bloody fantastic.
I pirated Brilliant Diamond cos I knew it was awful but I was curious.

I finally 100%-ed a Pokedex entry today, now I have three Shiny rerolls on Bergmites. If Serebii's mass outbreak list is correct then they can also pop up and that adds an additional 25 rerolls on top of those three. I'm also pretty damn close to 100-percenting Burmy's, Graveler's, and Stantler's entries too.

I checked the item descriptions and Hopo and Razz Berries do that (Hopo dulls reaction time and Razz boosts the capture rate) when you throw 'em at Pokemon.

I'd argue that the graphics should at least be serviceable in a Pokemon game. The 3DS games are fine if you stick to the base 3DS (the screen size changes between it and the XL make some titles look terrible) while the non-PLA Switch entries vary with both LGPE and BDSP looking good in both TV and handheld mode while SWSH does handheld mode better.

PLA can be funky in ways I haven't seen either of Pokemon's past Switch titles but it's not game-breaking as some would think it is, so far I've only noticed two graphical issues (one of which I suspect is more to do with my old-ass TV and the second is one that ALL open-world games have to deal with but one that Pokemon has had issues dealing with properly).

I like the idea of having a mini-map as well but PLA's UI is already pretty clogged up, almost all sides of the screen are used in some capacity during your typical gameplay session. At least the main map is pretty quick to bring up and put away.

The ironic thing here is that there ARE other placeable markers you can use on the map to denote points of interest but they ONLY work on the map itself, the flag is only one that can be seen in the overworld.

From what I understand it's it but it's also done in addition to adding transparency to the object in question rather than just cutting the amount of frames. Oh, and I've also had this occur with Pokemon on the ground and human characters (I notice it the most with the lady sweeping near the ramp to the Training Grounds and the Mr. Mime by the main gate).

The main issue with Game Freak is that they still have some issues dealing with the shift to three-dimensional movement and environments that started with the 3DS, it's why we're seeing a lot of developer outsourcing in recent Pokemon generations.

To be fair, that was also the case with the earlier games as well. They were able nail it by B/W/2, though.

Although, I do agree, it does seems like they've yet to reach that point with the 3D games.

As someone who hasn't really enjoyed pokemon since HGSS, checked it out when it leaked, saw how easy shinies were to get and ended up with these, and a few other random shiny things.
I like the changes to combat, I think some movesets need to be examined (Garchomp's strongest ground move is 60 power? Dusclops doesn't get his signature shadow punch? Basculegion gets zero physical ghost moves despite being physically statted and ghost type?) but that's always an issue at some point for GameFreak, and there's no PVP or battle tower to really go against strong opponents anyway so it doesn't matter.
Graphics suck for a 100 billion dollar franchise but at least we can use mods to "fix" it, gamefreak turning into japanese bethesda.
Thanks for reading my shitty blog post.

Isn't the actual map that you have good enough?

It is, but honestly I’d even just be fine with a compass just to orient myself. If that’s the biggest gripe I have, I’m calling the game a win regardless.

I just hope they don’t completely abandon everything in Legends for the next Main Lone Game

It's kind of weird that they didn't include an compass. But then again, you might as well keep track of certain landmarks that you come across.

At least you get me, Fwiffo.

Now STOP HAVING FUN. It is a poorly-made cash-in of a game and you're only depriving yourselves of a better game by condoning this shit.
I don’t own the game. I’m just pointing out your autistic flailing. But keep trying, maybe you and Chris could bond about how Sonic’s arms are NOT BLUE GODDAMNIT

Why doesn't this game have a mass-release function?

I mean, I'm having a great time, and stumbling into terrifying alphas is always a thrill, but it really feels like being able to release Pokemon en masse should be a thing.
