A notable distinction between the January 6th standing on the national mall and this trucker event in Ottawa is that they are not merely standing on the Canadian equivalent to the national mall, and indeed they cannot, because the big lawn in front of parliament is a big construction site, a giant hole in the ground with boards around it. The truckers are clogging all the streets of the capital city, and clogging the highways outside it too, because the police won't let most of them into the city proper.

This has added another dynamic to the game, which is that the population of Ottawa is furiously clamoring for the Feds to do something, sometime calling for the military to attack the protesters. It means that the government cannot simply wait out the clock, and hope the truckers get tired and go home. It is extremely likely that the truckers have much more patience than the government does. If the government cannot wait, then they are forced to either concede to demands or attack. Based on Trudeau's performance today, it seems as though there will be no voluntary concessions or negotiation.

Got educated on whats going on besides a couple outliers this is definitely as peaceful as a protest can get. Trudeau is a fucking coward. I imagine regardless of the outcome media and government will try their best to sweep it under the rug.
 
All the truckers have to do is sit a few more days, shipping is completely fucked up. People are seriously upset. All it takes is a few more days to force the hand of the state and get a gigantic optical victory. Either way the Canadian Prime Faggot isn't going to budge under any circumstances. All you can do is weaponize the situation into an even deeper optical victory and drive the stake of humiliation in as far and deep as possible to delegitimize and humiliate the current ruling power to the maximum possible extent (which has already been done successfully). But just a day or two more and this turns into a global catastrophe which elevates it beyond the success that it has already been into a decisive 10/10 political and ideological victory. Fuck Justin Trudeau, fuck globohomo, fuck Reddit, fuck libshits. Do not falter.

Of course they get the details wrong. It's not about vaccines to get into the US. Canadians wouldn't be in Ottawa to protest US border rules. It's about vaccine mandates for them going home.

Shrieking about Nazis is just what the left does any time someone disagrees with them. It is their go-to move to smear their opposition since the Nazis. What changed is it used to be just the far left nutjobs who did it (like Olbermann). Now it's the mainstream.

Watching the raw feed of this Trudeau press conference is surreal.

Prior to the feed going live it is so banal and bland that the authoritarian features creeping in from behind the facade are downright eerie. The chittering voiced broken English of JUSTO's state run media handler just as the feed kicks in wishing to know if JUSTO is prepared for a hot mic so he doesn't accidentally say the truth.

This is followed by a 1970 super market jingle bringing attention to the following message in two languages politely, but subtly, letting the audience know that the IP of the persons participating in this remote conference had been collected by the state.

This is followed by a solid minute of Trudeau standing silently in front of a door waiting for his queue to exit while the camera man lazily wiggles his camera around. Trudeau's sudden and unannounced emergence from the doorway surprising an unprepared camera crew causing the production manager to hurriedly call the crew to attention. This is where the feed went live.

The translator's mistake brushed aside as she is drowned out by Trudeau's audio.

The effortlessness with which he blasély mentions his daughters having contracted covid-19 juxtaposed with the slight pause, a nod, and a smug smile when he mentioned that he too has contracted the disease.

The focus with which he devotes to his script, only to experience Gestaltzerfall halfway through a sentence.

The unironic use of the royal We as he declares that he is not intimidated by the Honkening.

The moment when you remember that this man, who has been chosen to lead a nation, was an acting teacher and not a very good one.
